In Shadow Era, ally cards are the pawns in your quest to victory.
While they are not required, most decks include them; some decks will run ally-less.

• All allies belong either to one of the three game factions type as Human, Shadow, Neutral, or to one of the seven classes type.
  • e.g.: There may not be a faction type specified in Jade of the Forest card while its class type is Hunter, meaning it can be added in Human or Shadow Hunter deck.
  • e.g.: There may not be a class type specified in Bad Wolf card while its faction type is Shadow and while its tribe, an ally Class sub-type, is Wulven listed after the allies' main type ("Shadow Ally - Wulven"); these allies can only join the same hero's faction type.
• All ally cards have an Attack, Health and Cost value with a passive or an activate abilities.
  • Once the ally's health reaches 0, it is killed and goes to the graveyard.
  • An ally with 0 attack value can not attack.
  • An ally with 0 attack value can use its ability, if not exhausted, once per turn.
• After being summoned from your hand, allies are to be placed in the allies row and are in the state of exhaustion.
• Allies can be affected by all the game's negative effects.
• While the player can control up to four times the same ally, some of them will have the keyword "unique" on the opposite side of its card type. This denotes that he can only play the ally if he does not already control an instance of that ally.
  • Aldon the Brave and Death Mage Thaddeus for example.

• Human and Shadow factions have their own allies while Neutral allies can play both camp; but class-specific allies also exist, such as Spark and Pack Wolf; these allies can only join Heroes with the same class type.
