Artifacts are a subtype of item cards in Shadow Era.

- Artifacts are items that stay on the battlefield when played, causing various effects, from allowing the player to draw extra cards, to increasing attack.
- These cards are placed in the support row, and do not leave the field unless they are destroyed or if their durability reaches zero.
- All artifacts can only have one copy on the player's side of the field at a time, and a new copy cannot be played until the original is destroyed.
- In Shattered Fates, artifacts with durability were introduced, allowing for artifacts with abilities that are activated by paying durability to exist.
