Exile means to remove a card from play. Currently there is no way to return cards that are exiled. While the keyword "exile" was first applied to cards in the Dark Prophecies set, the ability did exist in Call of the Crystals, any card that says "remove from the game" is counted as exiling said card/cards. Note that exiling can only be done to cards on the field or in the graveyard, resources that are removed from play are not considered to be exiled. In addition, cards with the Steadfast ability cannot be exiled, as they are only able to be removed from the field by killing them, and exiling does not count as killing them.
