I have nothing against all the dice and beads and whatnot; it's a personal preference, and I know it's a big deal to some people - an integral part of the game even.

For me though, for the past 20 years all I've ever needed/wanted was a handful of change -- you can do anything with pennies, nickels, and dimes, and it fits in the palm of your hand. They're just tools to me, not a personalized facet of the game. I play Mtg with several guys and they all have these big boxes of tokens, counters, life wheels, dice, etc that they love. Great for them, but I'll keep my small handful of change :-)

Oh yeah, this was how we started:

Poor man's guide to playing the physical shadow Era game:

    1. Good ol' pen and paper
    2. Dice - just get a bunch of normal 6 sided dice.
    3. Coins or cheap gambling chips
    4. Free (and good) life counter phone/tablet apps.

    1. Gwen's Shadow Energy: 6 + 2 = 8 (A 10 sided dice is not crucial to play SE phy game)

    2. Marshland Sentinel is Frozen: Just use any scrap paper and write 'Frozen', a dice denotes how long the ally is frozen.

    3. Earthen Protector has been poisoned: slightly better than paper, stick a sticker on a gambling/poker/mahjong chip and ta-da! Instant status tokens. Earthen Protector has also been attacked by a Raven; hence his Attack is Zero: denoted by a coin covering up his attack, i.e. Attack zero.

    4. Soul Seeker: The attack power has been enhanced by Gwen's ability and hence dice is used to reflect the new attack. It's durability is also reflected.

    5. Similarly, the Crimson Armor has been targeted by Poor Quality and hence it's durability and defense is affected and reflected.

Hence, no excuse for not doing your DP pre orders now!

    $10 sgd for 4 bags.

Darn cheap. I swear they sell it for $10 Usd for 1 in places/shops/other countries whereby there is demand.

The only nice color is that turquoise blue one. The others look a bit girly.

It's very big, There are at least 144 dices inside. At least.

labels section. The size is perfect. Don't forget to get the clear ones too to paste on top on the colored ones to protect the writing and ink.

Awesome thread man. An alternative to using those Japanese score things is to use a calculator. A trick I picked up while playing Yugioh is to enter both players' life on the screen. Say you have a match with Amber vs Zaladar. You enter 3028 into your calculator. Now say Zaladar takes 2 damage from Puwen; punch in -2 and you have 3026. Then, say Fire Snake attacks Amber; punch in -100 and you have 2926 (Amber:29, Zaladar: 26). Remember, for Player 1 (in this case Amber), every time you edit her life you have to add 00 on the end before adding / subtracting. Hope this helps!
