Legal Cards for Official Organised Play

Heya!

After having an internal discussion among the Design Team and Kyle regarding promos (such as the powerful Neutral Ally Corrupted Angel) Wulven’s Stance is that they will not be legal in Official Wulven Events. This is due to the limited nature of their release and our goal to keep the game’s playing field as fair and fun for everyone as possible.

The exception:
Cards that are alternate versions of cards that have been printed as part of a Set or Expansion, such as foils drawn from booster pack, may be played in tournaments so long as the entire deck is sleeved in protectors capable of making the foil cards indiscernible from standard cards.

However, don’t let this stop you from playing promos like Corrupted Angel in friendly matches with friends! In fact, you could even get a group of friends together and run an unofficial tournament that allows Corrupted Angel to be played

That is all well and good, but unless Wulven has the money to spend controlling the card shops rules, I think the physical tournament scene will have a different ruling.

If I was running a tournament I would allow Corrupt Angel and I would allow anyone to write Corrupt Angel on a common card if they did not own one, to make it fair to all, assuming they would even play with the card in tournament play.

People have asked for Wulven to give an official stance and this clearly provides it. Official Wulven events will have this in force.

You can do what you like with cards in your own homes or at your own non-official tournaments. I know I will!

Also, this ruling is only for official Wulven sponsored tournaments, and those tournaments that aspire to meet our rulings. We cannot control what people do in their homes, or in hobby shops casually

Nor do we have any interest in doing so. Corrupted Angel looks to be an incredibly fun card, and I SINCERELY look forward to the casual decks that end up running her!! Just not in anything involving POOPS!

I am against this idea in spirit. However I know the design team made this decision with proper diligence, and I can be nothing but happy about that. Rock on Wulven.

Well it is a promo card that effects game play. I think this is the correct decision also. Its not like they are saying you can't ever use the card, you just can't use it for official tournaments that Wulven sponsors.
