Stealth protect should not exist

In the next update can you change things up not to allow an ally to protect if they have stealth. If you can see the other enemies you should be able to attack them and give the stealth ally defender or be able to use abilities on them

We do refine the rules from time to time, but that would be quite a change. In what scenarios are you seeing this in the game? Lance ability on Aeon? Tala ability on Erika? Layarian Diplomat is a good splash ally for taking out the stealth and the protector, btw.

In the early days of the game, the stealth + protector combo represented a real balance problem. Back then, Lance could give stealth a lot more often than he does now, and there were a lot of decks centered around giving Bridgitte stealth. Now it's relatively uncommon, and the only common form of this is Tala giving protector to Eleanor, Princess of Ellos, who technically doesn't have stealth, but essentially has the same effect. So it used to be a balance issue, because back then there were limited direct damage and ally removal abilities available to certain heroes, so those heroes would be helpless in certain matchups. The reason it's no longer overpowered is that most decks have at least one good response to this.

There's a bit of a flavor issue here as well: Protector suggests someone who throws themselves in front of attacks, thereby protecting allies, while stealth indicates hiding from attackers completely. So how can someone do both simultaneously?

So I'm with you on the flavor thing, but I have a feeling you're upset about it because it is causing problems for your deck. All I can say is this is one of the reasons many players carry at least a few copies of targetted ally removal. There are times when that removal isn't available, and in those instances, the common response to an Eleanor protector is to simply race the hero. Just start attacking them, and hope they die first. I know it's frustrating, but keep in mind, even if that happens to be your kryptonite, there will be other matchups where that strategy is very weak and will result in a loss. Again, that's why this strategy is not overpowered, and isn't overly prevalent.

Exodus - It is frustrating when opp Protectors a stealth or Eleanor! Consider Kruxes' suggestions above and try to have a DMT in your shadow decks, can deal with Nightshades, Birgittes and Eleanor very very well...if against Aeon - we knew you well!!!

No matter what deck you're using you should include some sort of ally removal or at least dependable nuke

Greetings! I understand your frustration with the issue of these skills, but I would ask you to try to see it from another perspective, creates a deck with these combos and you will see how vulnerable they can be.

For what you say about "be able to use abilities on them" i think you are talking about Hidden, and not stealth, cuz you actually can target stealth allies without problem. So... im curious in what context are you talking, cuz Hide in the game is a temporally stat i think, i cant remember a card with permanent hide for now...

In my view, stealth and protector today (with shattered Fates) have revived the game dynamics significantly, not long ago, metagame decks were VERY standardized (Ridiculously same) but now for the diversity of cards and combos you find surprises all day, as players versatilizan their decks to try to tackle any obstacle. Maybe you need a little of that, use different cards to handle different situations.

If you talk about Eleanor and Tala combo , i think this can be easy cleaned with a overall damage or a remover. If only for can't attack an ally your deck is disabled, I think it's a problem of flexibility of the deck, not about the skills, the skills and combos will be always diversified over time. In my opinion it is the player who should adapt and at same time, this is the fun in the game :v

-Neutral : Overwhelm (no more excuses)
- Human : Layarian Diplomat , Final Flourish, Retreat , Nowhere To Hide
- Warrior : Yari Marksman , Enslave the Beast
- Mage: Any damage ability lol
- Hunter: Any poison ability or ofc, Hunter's Gambit
- Wulven: Now You're Mine , Death from Above
- Elemental: Zaladar skill, Energy Discharge, Praxix skill, Mind Control (FTW)
- Priest: Rly? ... Tidal Wave , Ice Storm , and 378927391 more cool arcane things
- Rogue: Assassination , Garth's Concoction
- Shadow: Death Mage Thaddeus , Evil Ascendant , Der'kan

In the real early days, top ranked players used Aeon (who protected the hero to be targetable) and Vaillant Defender, great combo, ...

As for the OP, every classes have a way to deal with Stealth & Protector: Assassination, Tidal Wave, Banish, Mind Control, Energy Disharge, DD for Mage and Transmogrfication Curse, Retreat, ect...
