Raph's Basic Guide to playing Shadow Era Physical game

Yea, the paradigm fantasy peeps had kept the store pretty open with space for demos and games pretty obvious since they're mainly a boardgames/rpg store and had to display their own exclusively painted pieces. i think ShadowEra would definitely be the only tcg if promoted there? No competition then. Lol.

Edit: I almost bought the Fantasy Flight Star Wars sleeves but they don't quite fit our SE cards. Still can't find any proper beads/counters.

Playing Physical SE on the go? Pack light?

Raph's Tips and accessories for playing SE on the go:

    1. Get some nifty small dices. 1 small box of Chessex 12mm dice contains 36 dices inside. More than enough for 2 players!
    2. Life counter: get one free from Google Play or App store.
    3. 4 packs of boosters each for meltdown: play a best of three! With 4 players, a mini-tourney can be played.
    4. Don't forget to pack some sleeves to protect your cards!

Wanna play constructed? Since some heroes share a lot of common cards, i.e. used in both Amber and Boris, 1 deck box can easily store 'both' decks. Just use the same sleeves. My MS and BB deck share the same box since they both use similar CotC allies and WotF draw engine.

That's how the small dice works. It's not as good as big 16mm or 18mm dice but it's still good. Dice can be used for anything, including a resource counter (if you need one), counters for Shadow Energy.

Chessex dice looks the best but their dice storage box sucks: http://www.thediceshoponline.com/dice-search/36-x-D6

I love the storage box by Games Workshop dices: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/ca...questid=424438

6 sided die for 10's spot of hero life.
10 sided die for 1's spot of hero life.

10 sided die for shadow energy.

6 sided dice for health and attack of allies.
6 sided dice for attack and durability of weapons and armor.

6 sided dice (blue) for frozen
6 sided dice (green) for disabled

Sometimes use flat glass beads for status effects, etc.

    yeah, that works perfectly.

    you might need 2 x D10 for 1 player's life since it's possible to reach 40 life.

D10 for Shadow Energy is a great idea: i tested it and it's not bad. I also had Jumbo D10, makes the job easier. My only complaint is that it takes some time to turn and find the right number: beads are hence better, for me.

    Good luck!

The TO's pack for sale: $299.99 only!

Nah, it's just for me and anyone who wants to organize physical card tourneys/Games.

    DIY time! Make your own!

My TO's pack has the following: 5 sets of Duel Kit, life counters for 5 pairs of players, pen and a note book for determining brackets.

    So what's a Duel kit?

In my kit loaned to 2 players:

It has 6 status dice, and 12 beads of each color to be used as shadow energy counters. Don't forget to issue dice and a life counter to the 2 players!

(Or get them to bring their own dice and mobile app life counters!)

Find cheap containers at dollar stores or at stationary/toy stores!

    Voila! Physical Card SE Tourney!

Great example of what I call "storage porn", since I get a thrill out of buying containers for my stuff. I have spent a lot on various containers to organise my Lego and game cards. We're moving house soon and I'm using big clear plastic tubs rather than cardboard boxes to put stuff in, so I get my storage porn buzz.

LOL, I wanna pre-order that pack!

Got some nice Japanese/Kanji d10s at the local store today, these are real beauties. Made of some weird polyester mix.

Lol, I have the classic deckboxes in real leather somewhere stashed in my warehouse that berdugo might wanna lay his paws on too.
yea good spot to grab your storage fix. I bought a dozen, cept I don't like the plasticky feel to them so I handmade felt bags/mats/pouches.

Edit: here's one to my d.i.y'ed stuff for proofs!

And here's a mat, a little rough on the edges. But hey, it's thicker than those usual factory mats.

    And they're double-sided.

Dice bags for Physical SE in Chinatown.

    They can be very expensive:

I found mine really cheap and nice; with embroidered Chinese symbol in front.
