Agree with Codepunk. I've read the ranking explanation posted somewhere around the forum and it made perfect sense.

I don't care much about ranking, but I would love to participate in tournaments, so here's another one hoping they will come some time in the future.

As for the exploit fixes, good on you Kyle, great to see this things are getting attention, even when there's so much going on at the moment. One thing though, these type of announcements should be posted on the, well, announcements forum, so it doesn't get buried amidst all the other threads. Also (and as much as I detest mass emails), you should send these updates in an email to every game account. A large chunk of players does not visit the forums and they should know about these changes. There is always the option to unsubscribe for those who don't want to receive them.

While he should be winning a high percentage, at the upper levels is pretty much impossible to be winning 90% of your games. He has a plus 1 win ratio but still lost 14 points, that seems a little harsh. Gaining 14 points back at such high ratings would take MANY hours of playing and like you said- a very, very high win ratio of around 19/20.

To maintain around 440, I need to win 5-8 games for every loss, depending on the rankings of the players involved. 500 is supposed to be like a grandmaster in chess, I see no problem with needing to win at least 90% of your games to keep the rating.

Observing games in progress should be disabled until both players hands are hidden. People are still going to use another account to view their opponents hands (*Shakes fist* @ pathetic cheaters). This should not be something that is allowed to continue until the next release...

While i agree i believe a reset or rankings should be done. That way the true top players will get ahead of the people. but before this happens we need a more balanced rating system, Hate playing someone 100-150 points lower than me.

As for rank and how to keep it fresh. Maybe a solution would be an addition that "if a player won't play at least [put the number] games per day, his rank will be decreased by [put the number] points".

That will force an active playing on those who are in top of the ranking.

While I'm very happy with the news about countermeasures against the unscrupulous. I trust exploits will be thing a thing of the past in the near future. (I think that statement makes sense 0.o?)

I'm happy with the changes. I finally got to play some good higher ranked players today! I even got smushed by Boris.

I did suffer one mystery loss, though. It didn't come with the long hang time, thankfully.

But right now, EVERYONE in the upper levels have artificially inflated rankings. They all should be coming down significantly.
