So I was strolling around on the forums the other day and ran across Kent's 310 Amber Deck. I looked at it and was like, "wow....this looks fun to play." After studying it for a little bit I decide to build a deck based around Amber, just to see how she plays. Keep in mind I have never played a Warrior deck until now. The build went smooth, picked some good cards that I though worked well together. I go to test it and BLAM win after win. Of course I have a few losses ...
First a disclaimer: Many years ago (12 or so..) I said I would never play another CCG. I had been one of the very first adopters for MtG and had spent time, money and effort creating a deck which, at the time, was pretty good. Not to mention the actually collecting aspect where I had amassed a decent stack of proper worth. After about 2 Months of play two random thoughts on the game: - There's a lot of focus on deck building on the Forum, probably because it's an easy-to-discuss topic. But I have the impression that gameplay quality is at least as important. If I were to take the exact same deck as a 300+ player, I would not get *near* that rating. An expert player anticipates on his own cards to come, on the likely opponent cards to come, on who goes first, on the board, on who has card advantage, ...
