Welcome to concluding part of our Lost Lands spoiler series, which is intended to serve as a recap and wrap-up of all the previous articles and spoilers. Be sure to follow the links to each article or spoiler if you've missed any.
But what about new spoilers for those of you who were already up to date? Well, I'm sorry to say there will be no spoilers today because we're shifting to a simpler model for revealing them, as described in the middle section below. However, we do have some exciting news about how you can be playing with the set this month, which you can read at the end ... or now if you skip there!
Article Recap
As announced in the first article, Lost Lands will be a 200-card set, released in parts, with Part 1 being about 65 cards. The set is based around the themes of ruination, resurgence and rediscovery.
Fifteen cards in Part 1 will have a brand new card type, Location, for which the rules were specified in article 2. Locations are played in the centre of the board between the two ally rows, in a single stack which grows during the game. Only the text on the top Location is active, and it will always be providing at least one ability to each player. Be sure to check out the rules to learn more!
Aside from establishing the new card type, the other main design goals for Part 1 described in article 3 are to improve the viability of “tribal builds” based around using allies sharing the same alignment and to expand the deck design space available for your decks.
The design process we’re using to help us achieve these goals, as well the implicit goal of continuing to making a highly enjoyable game with balanced cards, was presented in article 4.
Background information about the Aldmor, an ancient race of people who will play a pivotal role in Lost Lands through their representation as Neutral allies and Neutral artifacts, was shared in article 5.
Aside from balance across classes and heroes, we also care very much about supporting different archetypes - the three main ones of Aggro, Control and Combo were defined in article 6 and you were invited to discuss variants, hybrids, and styles in the comments.
Our only other alignment usable across all heroes, Homunculus, was revisited in article 7. We looked at two new Neutral allies and a Neutral attachment.
Referring back to the expansion of the design space, the subject of theme decks was covered in article 8.
Building on the announcement of the rules of our new Location card type, the design intentions behind them and related lore was discussed in article 9.

I'm pleased to confirm that we now support all platforms within the PFG and we're reopening the doors to take on a limited number of new people. So if an inability to run the game in a web browser has held you back in the past or the spoilers have got you really keen to play with the cards, now would be a great time for you to apply!
Click here to see how to apply for the PFG!
We're aiming to add the new people on 18th September, so that's not long at all to get your application together. In the mean time, remember to look out for new spoilers that will be appearing on the forum over the next few weeks.
Hope to see some of you in the PFG real soon!
