Welcome to the 2013 World Championships Wildcard event! This is the second last chance to get qualified for the upcoming WC2013. The rules for the competition are as follows:
The competition begins Saturday 3pm GMT November 16th
The matches will be bo3, single elimination with no sideboards (deck lock) with a bo5 finals
Alternate who goes first in games 1 and 2. Determine who goes first in game 3 randomly (in the case of the bo5 finals, alternate who goes first for games 3 and 4 and determine who goes first in game 5 randomly.)
The maximum number of players is 128, anybody who wants to sign up after 128 will be placed on a reserve list.
Players must check in 1 hour before the start of the event, or they will be replaced by the first player in line on the reserve list.
We recommend playing on PC as it has the most stability. In the case of a sync error, the game will be replayed unless it was clear that one player was dead (for example, the game freezes with one hero at 0 health). Again, playing on PC should avoid this particular issue.
In the case of a disconnection, the player that disconnects will get a game loss unless it was clear that one player was dead (for example, the turn player drops when he is about to attack to reduce the opposing hero to 0 health).
Send in your decklist to Mojumbo at least 2 hours before the event begins. We will be randomly checking gamelogs to make sure players arent trying to change their deck mid-tournament.
Evil Ascendant will be a legal card for this event as the critical bug affecting it has been fixed. It is ok to have it in your decklists!
NEWSFLASH: In v2.03, which is the only version of the client usable in this event, Shriek of Vengeance destroys unspent resources, so the timing of playing it during your turn is important. (More info here.)
(Note: This event is only eligible to players who have not already qualified for the 2013 World Championships.)
IRC will be used for arranging games with your opponent. Here are some tips for accessing IRC:
webchat.freenode.net is the website for IRC.
Use your ign/forum name for your username.
#shadowera is the main channel for SE players.
#tournament is where the players in the tournament meet to arrange their games.
We recommend at least using pc for your connection to IRC.
