    Rust Weevil vs Golden Katar

Scenario: I have a gold katar with 1 durability (2attack), it's the opponents turn and he attacks with a full health rust weevil (4 health). My katar is destroyed and the rust weevil remains in play.

According to Gold Katar's ability text, the weapon doesn't lose durability when defending so I was surprised to see it being destroyed. So is it a bug or did it played as intentioned? Any help clearing this doubt is much appreciated

    Heya,

Golden Katar prevents your weapon from losing durability as a result of defending. Rust Weevil causes your hero's weapon to lose 1 durability when the weevil takes combat damage from a hero. In your above scenario what happened is Golden Katar prevents the 1 durability loss that would normally be caused by defending but then loses 1 durability from Rust Weevil's "on damage" ability. Golden Katar cannot prevent ally abilities from inflicting durability loss. Likewise, a card like Acid Jet would be able to reduce Katar's durability because it is not durability loss caused by defending.

    Hope that helps
