New Art Contest- Boweh Needs a Banner
I'm sure, as some of you have noticed, the huge logo/banner at the top of my site was a quick placeholder that I never intended to keep around. However, it's been up there ever since the site first launched.
It's about time for something new.
I'm looking for a replacement. And I want to see what you, the community can do.
You have two weeks, until 11/23/2012, A.K.A. Black Friday. It's not a hard deadline and I won't list a specific time, we're all in different zones and such, but if I make a decision after that point, you're out of luck.
The winner will receive 1,000 crystals from my own pocket and will also be credited in a new, about the site section.
Submission guidelines:
-Image must be 960x300, or larger in the same aspect ratio. This is the size needed to fill the entirety of the Blogger template. You'll notice the current one is only 760x300 and falls short of running the full length. The image must also be JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP or TIFF, as these are the formats supported by blogger.
-Image must include "The Boweh" in prominence. It IS supposed to serve as the title, after all.
-Image can be any style or with any medium the submitter thinks will get them accepted. I encourage the use of digital media, but to each his own.
-Please, no explicit or copyrighted content. I can't use any hateful or otherwise potentially offensive imagery and risk AdSense pulling sponsorship.
-Contest participant understands that, if they are the winner, they are forfeiting full rights to the work for me to use not just on the Boweh, but any other related or unrelated site. I probably won't, but I need the option.
-No watermarks or maker's marks, please. I want to be able to judge each submission in their final forms, and I won't include something with another person's logo slapped in the corner.
-Submissions will only be considered when sent to me via PM on the Shadow Era forums. Feel free to post them in this thread, but that will not get you entered. I need to have one place to scroll through all the entries easily, and in courtesy of those who don't want to submit publicly, I'll use forum PMs as the proper means to enter. If you want to show off and drum up interest in the thread, that's fine and I have no problem with that. however, you need to also send a PM to be considered.
-If you want credit in some form other than your forum username, please say as much in your entry pm. If you want to use a different name, your real one, include a deviantart account link, whatever, just say as much alongside your entry.
-One person can submit an unlimited number of entries. I'm looking for one, high quality submission to use as the new banner on my site. I couldn't care less what else you send in.
-I reserve the right to close the contest without a winner if no entry has been submitted that, in my opinion, matches the criteria and quality I'm hoping for. The bar is low, but if there's only one entry which involves a bunch of penises and the site name is written in 1 pt font, they aren't getting anything.
-I can't say this enough. Please, no penises.
