Still no Starter and no answer from alliance, this is starting to be anoying...
@Aebrams If you're waiting on a starter deck(including the You and a Friend package), you should email support@shadowera.com and we'll check it because all of these should've been delivered by now. All booster boxes should've been shipped out by today. As for the other packages, Alliance Game Distributors should have them shipped out this and next week.
Okay, something's screwy. Wires are crossed somewhere. At least two of us have done this, only to be told by the support person that the 10X Starter Deck sets have not even begun shipping. See the Progress Report thread for an exact posting of the email I (and another individual, apparently) received today with regard to our 10X Starter orders.
If they have't shipped, then you're being given wrong info. If they have, then whomever is answering for the support email needs to be informed of this because they are providing wrong information. Either way, both claims can't be correct. Either they shipped or not.
I am that support person, I mainly answer most of the emails to support@shadowera.com.
Alliance Game Distributors sent out bulk orders before they sent out non-bulk orders. They also sent out some orders out of queue at their own decision. So it's not abnormal if some players have already received their starter box.
I requested a progress report and they replied last Wednesday that they still have the Collector's Edition, Epic Collection, and Complete Playset to go. So I expected they had processed starter boxes already. However I've sent them a few update requests on unshipped starter boxes and they replied only saying it wasn't shipped; when normally they would ship things like starter deck orders that haven't shipped because these all should've been processed and shipped.
So I am getting them to clarify on that and this was what you were told in the email. You were also told that starter boxes may not have been processed yet; not explicitly that they have not begun shipping them.
Then shouldn't the progress report post be edited and updated? Right now, it is telling people who have not already received their 10X Starter Deck set to email the Shadow Era support email address for information. If nothing else, updating the post would make it accurate and stop a deluge of emails coming in to the support email address on an issue that is incorrectly stated in the initial progress report post here: http://www.shadowera.com/showthread....l=1#post249077
I was going to post another update in that thread and was catching up on the forum. Maybe I shouldn't have stopped to respond to comments like yours first as that would've been faster.
Or one could perhaps waste time being flippant about providing incorrect information.
Or possibly have made sure the information that was posted as a "progress report" was accurate in the first place.
I'm generally an easy-going guy, and I tend to be polite when dealing with businesses, almost to a fault. The sheer amount of incorrect, contradictory, and otherwise faulty information that the preorder overload and dealing with Alliance has brought to Shadow Era, though, has me just about ready to give up on the game. I've already canceled a pair of "get into Shadow Era" style events locally that were meant to happen in a couple of weeks because there's simply no way to know if any of the cards I ordered would arrive on time.
I know that the issue here is mostly with Alliance not holding up a particularly high standard of providing information to Wulven, which makes it difficult for Wulven to provide information to us, but seriously, at this point, don't make assumptions. Unless Alliance flat-out says that something has shipped, why assume that it has? We already know they can't stick to what they claim, don't we?
For instance, when I spoke with Mr. Roberts from Alliance, he claimed that the 10X Starters and Collector's Editions were to be the last to ship and would ship by July 11 "at the latest," which has turned out to be another steaming pile from Alliance.
As bad as Alliance is with providing information, if there is going to be a thread specifically designed to be there for accurate information, then it should be based on accurate, confirmed information, rather than assumptions. No information is better than wrong information, as the former may create frustration, but the latter will cause even more confusion in the rapidly spiraling mess that has come to define this entire preorder shipment process.
They told me specifically, "We still need to go through the epic collections, complete sets and 4x sets.". So I did not consider the possibility that they forgot about the starter boxes. I guess it was presumptuous of me though. I am learning though and will try not to make that mistake again.
I would love to be able to do something more about these issues. But I have been kindly asked to basically refrain from making any unnecessary remarks in my communication with them. And technically it's not really my place to confront them on it. But if there's a problem not originating from us but player perception is otherwise, I want to address and inform players on what the facts are.
