Dxtory (auto-correct turned it into Extort 7 times!) can work extremely well if you set it up properly, re: earlier suggestion. Fraps is a lot more easy mode though.

So I'm recording fine with CamStudio, but it is not synchronising the audio. Can anyone recommend a better program for capturing both video and audio or an editing program I can overlay commentary audio?

Often if you have a problem with video desyncing it's an issue with tour ram/hard drive space, not enough to compile correctly. If you haven't had a problem before with vid capture and are now, it may be just a little too much crap on your primary hard drive.

Alternately, go get fraps. I personally don't trust anything else. It both captures at the highest quality and with the least drain on your system.
