Expansion Spoiler 3: The Clashing Factions


Welcome back to the 3rd instalment of our spoiler series for the first expansion. Last time we spoke about the expansion set as a whole, and went into some of the themes and goals of the set. Today, we will go deeper into the Shadow and Human factions and talk a bit more about what sets them apart, and what sorts of new cards we might see that help to distinguish them

The man Pader called Thaddeus tossed his cloak and launched a dark, pulsating energy at the four of them as Nishaven reached the group of acolytes at the head of the path to the mansion. Pader reacted quickly, slamming the ground with the palm of his hand and forcing a rock wall up out of the ground to protect them. The dark energy collided with the wall spraying rock shards and dust everywhere, but standing fast against the assault.

“Go!” Pader commanded. “Run!”

If you quit before a game ends, you lose more points from your rating than if you would if you let the game run its course.

I arrived at this conclusion because my rating went down 3 to 5 points whenever I quit early in the face of imminent defeat. But when I push through until I get the Defeat screen, I only lose 1 to 2 points.

Does this mean Shadow Era now penalizes quitters? Can anyone verify if my assumptions are correct? If yes then it's a great development ...
