Hi all,
Here is my allied Darkclaw deck. It’s basically built off a similar principle to Raph Majere’s old Ninja Darkclaw, but taking advantage of the new set of Shadow hasted allies.
Darkclaw
4 x Rampant Krygon
3 x Ravager Zealot
3 x Dread Wolf
3 x Lightning Hunter
3 x Rain Delay/Captured Prey
3 x Shadow Font
2 x Ley Line Nexus
4 x Speedstrike
4 x Blood Moon
3 x Bad Santa
4 x Jeweler's Dream
3 x Lythian Sledgehammer
39 cards + hero
Allies
There’s quite a few actually (for Darkclaw anyway) and they cover the full range of haste. Lightning Hunter is an old favourite, however he has a decent substitute now in Ravager Zealot, with the added advantage of being able to CHOOSE what ability you detonate. I have won games by detonating my own Speedstrike. Dread Wolf, while he hits like a stuffed toy (at least early on) is the only Shadow haste 3cc with 4 heatlh, which is a big bonus in a number of matchups. He’s also good for pinging allies to death after a weapon strike. Krygon is the staple.
Control
There’s not a lot of it, unusual for DC. I tend to use my weapons and allies to control the first 4-5 turns then get to the face beating when my draw and weapon are set up. I run Rain Delay generally because it allows me to stall out the last couple of turns and provides food for Zealot. Were I not to use Rain Delay I’d use Captured Prey so I’m not reducing the number of Zealot targets, but I feel Rain Delay is definitely better.
Weapons
No Teeth. They don’t do enough nowadays. I prefer hitting people with a big lump of metal, plus its dynamite when going for the face in conjunction with Rain Delay (they can’t destroy it and they can’t beat it down). Also because of the nature of DC’s ability the 5 durability doesn’t mean you waste it’s use, just cast another after you wear it out on one attack and the second weapon will also get the bonus. Jeweler’s Dream is your early game beatstick, allowing you to get board so you can swing hard late game with Sledgehammer.
Conclusion
This isn’t a meta breaking deck, don’t get me wrong. Darkclaw still has his fair share of shocking matchups, and a couple of them are in the top tiers of the game. That being said he can perform well, and can really surprise people when you start hitting them on two fronts.
