We ended up with an amazing 5-way tie for 8th place. So after a grueling almost 6 hours of day 1, I made the decision that we would have to go with 12 into day 2. Brackets for day 2 are:

For wc this year, we will be unveiling a web-based version of the automated tournaments system!

No need to report scores or chat in tg. Players log in and can see the standings, their opponent and what they have to do next, eg "Create a game with password 333" and then it tells their opponent "Join Kyle's game with pw 333". The match result is picked up automatically from the server database and brackets/scores updated in realtime. The public can also visit to view progress of games, no more thinking "Is this game 2 or 3?" etc

In about a week we will have a live tournament using this system to iron out any issues and collect feedback. Hopefully this tool will be used to more easily host big tournaments and popups alike, and will play an important role in 2020's path to WC.

And hey, how about we try a Conquest format tournament some time?!

that’s why I don’t participate in any tournaments anymore. to do this I need the shadowera app, the Telegram app and a web page for brackets. there is always confusion about who starts, password in addition to all toxic people, etc ... I understand people who want to socialize but I do not think I am the only one who wants to open the shadowera app and participate in a automated tournaments and nothing else.

You are drowning in a glass of water. These days any smart phone can handle those 3 apps opened. I have a tablet from 2013 and it works fine, imagine people in pc, mac or new smart phones. Also you just need to open the bracket once to check your opponent, same for telegram, you just contact your opponent at the start and from then you can talk in the in game chat.
A lot of players want the automated tournaments (I personally don't cause the most beautiful about this game is fan made comeptitions) but your reasons to abandon competitive scene are kinda lame in my opinion.
