Unfortunately today March 28th at approximately 01:00 EST we had a catastrophic database error that required restoring from backups a few hours old. If you were affected by this database restore, please email support@shadowera.com with details and we will get you straightened out ASAP.

Ironically, we are in the process of implementing a multi-master database cluster with redundant live backups but this was not scheduled to go online for another day.

UPDATE: We have decided to grant all our players an extra 200 Shadow Crystals due to the data loss and downtime. Please accept our apologies and do email us if you are missing crystals.

I think that they will in fact be able to eventually sort it all out, but now they will have TONS of emails requesting multitudes of stuff back that they lost, and i'm not sure if they have the resources to check and see if people are missing what they say they were, not to mention how time consuming thats going to be.

My question for kyle is, should we keep playing even if we lost gold\cards\crystals\xp? or should we hold off on it until you guys can get around to fixing everything?

if this issue can be fixed, probably it might be better to take down the servers until resolved

Based on my experience with databases, if you restore from an old backup then that probably means that there's no other option. Which means that the only way they would be able to restore things to the way they were would be to do it manually. Hopefully if they had transaction logs for the database, they might be able to construct some things from there up to a certain point.
