Here are the issues with an open system:
1: hackable. The more versatility you give a player, the more likely they will be able to abuse it. And they will.
2: possible errors. People will go "wtf man, I just lost 500 crystals because of errors!"
3: complicated coding. To prevent above hackers, it must be well coded. Kyle employs Vietnamese coders. They're not exactly renowned for their coding skill.
4: priorities. What do you want more? Redeemable codes, new game modes, expansions, what?
