That stuff aside, I wouldn't feel comfortable joining something though and giving my opinion right away on what needs to be changed. Joining A1 is clearly a well-defined process, and if the members I'm thinking of made it through that, and Pete okay'd them, not up to me to say who should and shouldn't be in then.
Just piping in on a few potential applications. I do feel free to butt in with an opinion when I'm not a part. :p
The well defined process is anything but, it's a work in progress. Up to very recently it was entirely Pete's decision. Now we solicit opinions from the alliance, and then play some games with the applicant to help guide our decision. I don't think much fat has slipped through since we've taken this approach.
As for trimming the fat, unfortunately that happens through attrition. We have more members who have gone AWOL on the SE forums and A1 forums than active members. I can't say definitively but most of them don't play SE any more, or are waiting for more improvements to come back. (Side note: any old A1 members who are on breaks, it's a good time to come back :))
Yeah, well what everyone said is true. Its a constantly changing work in progress. Things just get more refined as time goes by thats all. The rough edges keep getting polished etc, and the little things all add up.

Thought about joining a guild or making a guild of my own for the longest time. I've seen A1 everywhere and also was my pleasure in playing with alot of the members. Nothing bad but good to say about everyone I've met so far. I was thinking about joining JD but I am now pulling myself out of that guild for personal reasons. My boy Squishy recommended me so here I am. One of the coolest people I've ever met. So with that. Application being sent.
