Tuned Deck for New Players (Economical Eladwen)

As part of writing my Beginner's Guide to Shadow Era, I have progressively refined a starter deck to end up with a tuned deck, which I think is well-suited to new players, because it is relatively easy to play and cheap to build.

I've written it up on my website: Economical Eladwen 1.27 (33 cards).

Whether you choose to play the deck or not, the explanations of the strategy and cards should be worth your time.

Please post comments/question here and I will try to help out.

OMG - I just beat a Gwen deck with it! Kristoffer is the MAN!

Check the replay: BURN1N4T0R vs Rasilez.

    Highlights:
    * Sprung a Death Trap with Kristoffer
    * Retreated a Raven
    * Killed Aeon with Eladwen and Fireball
    * Hit a converted BDB with Jasmine, since her 4HP is not enough to survive SS anyway, and finished it with Lightning next turn.
    * Pinged the last durability of a bow and armor with Kristoffer
    * Dealt the final 2 damage with a Hasty Kristoffer with Aldon out already

If someone can record this replay, I will be indebted to them. It is a gameplaying masterclass!

    Hello Gondorion,
I just want to say great job on this tuned deck for new players. I've just started playing yesterday and two days ago I was going through the forum to find good tips and guides for new inexperienced players and happen to be lead to this thread from other threads. I followed your suggestions and guides (the ones you posted here) also and they were very helpful in guiding me through the first few hours of playing. But enough of my rant . I just wanted to say this deck so far is great and its helping me make some money; as of right now I have a record of 16 wins and 0 loses against AI's. I haven't gotten the confidence in going against other players yet so I do not know how well your deck will do. So do you have any suggestions for this? That is if you are willing to share since so far your suggestions and guides have helped me very much ^_^.

Best regards. And I'd give you 10 thumbs up if i could :P

Thanks for the feedback, nhocon90. I think the Strategy section of the guide should be enough for you. Expect to lose some games against people, but you will gain knowledge and experience with each match.

I am currently at 8 wins and 5 losses with my BURN1N4T0R account, at 140 rating. The deck now has 3x Sandworm and had one Retreat removed, giving 35 cards. I think that is pretty solid. 30-card Majiya decks will be a challenge, but other decks are mostly winnable at below 150 rating. Beware of experienced players with alternate accounts though.

I think the best suggestion here is: Just give it a shot! Worst thing that can happen is that you lose a game. If you have played a number of games vs the AI you should have a grasp of how to play your deck, and I trust you will do just fine. If you are looking for some more strategic background, you can have a look at the strategy articles I wrote (especially the one with strategy advice for beginning players)--the link is in my sig, and the articles are hosted on Gondorian's website.
