Gorlak the Vicious ability and a special circumstance

When a player has Gorlak the Vicious summoned and their hero kills their own ally (either because of Rapid Bite or Coran, Darkhand), even the killed ally gains +1 health from Gorlak’s ability and returns to life.

In order to trigger Gorlak’s ability, the ally must have been already dead. Is this a bug or are things really supposed to happen in this order?

An example of this can be found in A1 Steak Sauce vs Coran (Logan Stonebreaker vs Darkclaw) match, played on November 10th 2022. The turn is T8.
