3.71 campaign BUG

In two separate games i was unable to target allies with Retreat. Not for the whole game but only a turn. With no cards in play to prevent the action. Playing Amber Rain's campaign

Could be that the opponent's hand was full? Remember that you can't have more than 7 cards in hand

A couple things could have caused this. As Colosal mentioned, a player can never have more than 7 cards in their hand, so trying to return something to their hand does nothing if they already have 7. Also I know you say that nothing on field was out to cause this, but do also keep in mind the Steadfast mechanic, which will prevent an ally from leaving the field by any method other than killing it (return to hand and exile won't work on it).
