I haven't gotten around to QM again yet, but noticed this in live meltdown.
First, let me say I don't like having a frequently used button like attack, sacrifice or cast sitting at the very bottom of the screen period (visible or not). It strikes me as super inconvenient. My eyes and mouse get pulled all the way back and forth across the board every time I want to check something once more, or cancel an action I was considering.
I play on a PC, Win7 with a 14 inch laptop screen. My resolution is 1366 x 768 (the recommended one). I have a taskbar with only one row of icons at the bottom of the screen.
On the test server (while 1.7 was still live anyway), the attack or cast buttons toward the bottom of the screen fell within the view, although they were very low and there was not much margin. Although they are awfully small there too. This was actually a major reason I didn't play more often on test server, and now it's part of the live server.
Presently, the sacrifice-cast-attack buttons on live server (and also Buy and all the other merchant buttons down there) are almost entirely obscured under my taskbar. I can reach the very top edge of them with the mouse only if I am very, very careful. There is not much margin at all. It takes a lot more wrist energy and takes time away from the rest of my turn, to make sure I can find this wee little button.
Given that their fonts are now tiny and they're also mostly obscured, those buttons are almost unreadable as well. I find myself squinting to check that's Cast and not still on Sacrifice, again.
I also dislike reaching the far bottom left corner to bring up the menu at the top. It's a very tiny piece of screen to have to click, not at all clear to new users of the version where it is, and again forcing player view to snap all over frequently for no good reason. I was basically fine with the descending critter graphic as menu critter, whatever that creature was with its nose hovering up there waiting for attention.
It would be fun to explore all these new cards, but I'd rather not be playing against the interface so constantly.
