    Arrow The Merchant

If the merchant's prices are based upon the demand for each card, shouldn't Infernal Gargoyle cost much more than 100 gold? Considering every shadow deck has 4 copies you would think it would be around the same price as Aldon the Brave or Priest of the Light. Even if you disagree because there must be much, much more human players than shadow players, you cannot deny the fact that more copies of Infernal Gargoyle have been sold than allies like Kurt Whitehelm or Erika Shadowhunter. Unless there's something I don't know or haven't thought of, I think that there must be a flaw within the merchant system.

It might be because infernal gargoyle is common and has a higher chance to come out of booster packs. I think it's common but I might be wrong. Currently, I don't think merchant adjusts price according to demand to that specific card.

yes, garg is common. Aldon is U and potl ir R, so the price difference is rarity related...

Well it also could be that if you ever bought a starter deck you get 2-3 IG:/ but that's just me so don't take my word on it

Ahh, yes this would make sense. The price was set once according to its rarity and increases slightly (possibly increments of 5) as more and more are bought.

This would also explain why Infernal Gargoyle has remained at 100 gold, with so many extras being sold back to him, and so few are bought, the price hasn't increased (and can't go below 100).

Just to clarify, from the Shadow Era FAQ:

The Merchant is an NPC that buys and sells cards using in-game gold. He has a real, shared global inventory that can even be sold out. He will occasionally restock his inventory and adjust his prices up or down according to demand. This system is designed to simulate a player-run free market without the potential for abuse in a free to play game.

mosre gargoyles are SOLD to the merchant than bought from him. the most popular starter deck to buy to convert to gold is the elemental one which has 2. once you buy two of those, you have you 4 and do not need to buy a single gargoyle. but we buy a ton more than 2 elemental starters.
