1.28 sadness

Well I dont get it, 1.29 is now being tested, but I have yet to play a single 1.28 game?

I play SE form my iPad, but it seems that all my buying of cards, getting my accounts renamed etc has been a waste of time, since I still cant play a game on my iPad.

What now? it gets approved a few days before everyone starts playing 1.29? This is not helpful to me or a great solution for apple players. I would like to know if this issue is something that will be addressed in future versions, or if apple players are no longer the core of SE's direction and I should drop this game due to lack of support.

I ask only so that I can plan my future here on SE, and am looking for an honest answer, I have no problem with whatever outcome, only that I dont want to be strung along waiting for non existent updates.

ios platform until now is still the 1.27 version, I heard that you have submitted a new version to Apple, do not know the author is 1.28 or 1.29

I disagree, Wulven know the turnaround time is slow for apple. If they fail to take that into consideration when planning that is not apples problem, it is in fact Wulvens problem.

My question is not, who is to blame here, it is in fact, does wulvern care/support IOS anymore or not. If they do, and can confirm a commitment to keep IOS users on track the same as every other player then thats great. If they cant, and IOS is an afterthought, best effort but who cares if they dont get updates, then it is an unusable situation for me.

Im asking which of the 2 options it is, are we supported or not. Who/what/why it happens I couldnt care less about, and rankly thats not something I should have to care about.

It's the downside of being a part of a minority. I've been in it for the last 30 years as a Linux user. Try getting a bank to develope a plugin for firefox. Will never happen. I have to use stupid Microsoft wrappers like Wine to be able to use Internet Explorer to just do my daily business.

You basically just have to suck it up and move on if you don't like it. It's harsh, and indeed sad.

Either way I just want an official response from wulvern so I know to move on or not. I think you're wrong, pete.
They submitted the first 1.28 version that was rejected because of some issues with iOS5. They solved the issues and re-submitted it to Apple.
I don't think their politics towards apple users has changed. But, of course: you want to have an official response fro Wulven itself, and I think it's fair enough.
I wouldn't expect an answer very different from the one I gave you, though. :)

You CAN infact play some games on the older version. It's what I do right now to crank my rating back up a little :) And suprisingly, it's still quite fun!

yes I understand you can play on the old version, but some old version of a game no longer interests me when i cant access all the cards I just purchased and want to use, also I cant actually compete with any of my friends who all use the latest version. Its like playing WOW or something but never playing with the latest version, just being stuck in the past forever.

I agree with you, I started to think that this game is a U.S. company, and later learned the game was developed in Vietnam, we believe that they will actively listen to the views and then on the next update timely submitted to Apple review

Let's discuss now, did not get wulvern formal response, does he not online? Or dismissive? If the web version and the iphone is the latest version at the same time, I would rather lay in bed playing ipad version and the iphone version.

I really hope that Kyle will decide to release simultaneous updates. Submit the update to Apple. When it's accepted and ready for users to download.. Update the other platforms as its almost instant.

Downloading 1.28 from the download page dont work on Ipad ?

Yeah. There are more PC/Windows owners than iPad owners in the world. Potentially there are more cash in it for Wulven to keep the PC/Windows version up to date. Not saying they should ignore their other users/markets, but that's a fact. Just like the Windows/Linux relation.

What 38 people state in a public poll can hardly be considered statistically significant. :)

Don't worry, the sky is not falling, iOS is still about half of our userbase so it won't be ignored anytime soon. :D

Ok, but we would still like to know what is happening, and what the plans are for future releases. If 50% of your userbase is IOS, then why make the majority be the ones who suffer waiting forever? I just want to know if this issue will be addressed somehow in the future or apple users will forever be behind the times?

How did you purchase the cards if you are on 1.27? Sounds like you do have access to 1.28 (probably via a computer) so you can play 1.28 if you wanted to, so your bitching is pointless.

Oh sorry guys. My bitching is pointless. Helio pointed out that I obviously own a computer of some sort so Im just wasting everyone's time. Thanks Helio! I had forgotten that I owned a PC, until you reminded me. What a great guy you are.

Now why dont you run along and play in some of the other threads while the rest of us continue on here without you, since you cant conceptualize a scenario where someone might be able to access a computer at some point but have more convenient and/or more uninterrupted access to a tablet or phone device.

Why don't you say it? You want the rest of the platforms to be delayed until apple decides to approve a new version? As you can't have it in your preferred platform you would rather delay it for the rest?

As a player in many platforms, I'd rather have the updated version instead of having to wait for Apple to decide whether the new version is all right or not for you. If you'd rather be in a walled garden that requires apple approval to be able to get a new version of the software, its fine, but don't expect to force the rest of the platforms to follow the same road.

I didnt offer a solution, only pointed out the issue that has resulted in me not being able to play the game. How Wulven deals with the problem is up to them, either by way of in app updates that do not need apple approval, by waiting till apple is approved first, or by some other solution I did not think of. Thats not really my problem, since I didnt create the game or decide the choice of platform for it to be released on. My problem is that I dont want to play this game if IOS is never seeing updates till 1 month after everyone else, and since 50% of the userbase is IOS I would imagine that there are some others who feel the same way. I dont expect you/force you to do anything. Im asking what Wulven intends to do, if anything so I can decide if I should drop SE or not, which I felt was clear in the OP.

For the record I never have, and never will own any iCrap device.... unless they take over the world, which is unlikely, because their general is dead.

Considering the time it is taking Apple to update, it would be fairer to make everyone else wait, and release simultaneously. The updates are starting to roll over quicker now, and it would only be one delay, at the start. The devs would always be one patch ahead of the player base, waiting for the update to clear apple before releasing it everywhere. No-one would even know they were waiting for apple to approve the latest development. I honestly don't know what all the bitching is about, why not wait for apple? It's worse like this because EVERY platform has it, except one, which makes it obvious that they are being made to wait.

As Kyle said, iDevice users make up 50% of ShadowEra. It's unhealthy for a growing game to split its player base because of delayed updates.

The correct solution is to do a simultaneous release.
