It's time to monetize foil cards.

Hi,
a thing that is making this game great is that you can buy the cards you want, and not a system based on luck like other games.
I think it would be great if this system could apply to foil cards.
Theses cards could be buy only with shadow crystals and not with gold.
For me, a foil is equivalent to 4 standard cards, but it's only intuitivly.

We know that 1 SC = 28 golds based on the raikka deck that has got the best resell value. Increase the value x4 for foil cards means 4 SC = 28 golds so rounded it means than every 50 golds, the card would value to 7 SC.

For exemple, if the base version of the card costs 400 gold, the foil version costs 56 SC.

The average cost of a card is 261 golds before LL2 if I remember well, meaning than an average deck costs about 10 000 golds and a competitive deck 20 000 golds, so respectivly 1400 SC (10$) and 2800 (20$).

Players that bought SC / click ads are splitted in 2 categories : the ones that want the full collection of cards and the ones that want a beautiful deck with a custom sleeve / playmate. For this 2nd category, if they put money to have sleeves / playmates, no doubts they will put money to have a full foil deck.

I know that a full foil deck is a kind of privilege for top 100 tokens holders. Talking for me only (I'm one of them), it doesn't bother me if non invested players play with full foils because the more the game make money (in an intelligent way) and the more I will be happy :)

I’m lost. Isn’t that the way it is right now? With purchasing the foil packs? You do it with crystals. You can’t purchase foil cards with gold.

Also, “normal” is not a cool word to use. Just say non invested players or non token holders.

Bye the way, I am also a top Token Holder but I do not consider myself to have a “full foiled collection.” When I build decks, the cards are still unfoiled. It gives me a little motivation to work towards something.

I understood his suggestion is to make foils available to everyone to be bought in the Merchant with SC.

I don’t like the idea since I already spent tons of crystals to the foil pack. However it will be nice if a trade between players could be provided.

Yes I'd like to be able to purchase to the merchant instead of randomize the system via packs, which can be very frustating at some point.

While it’s also the fun of collecting.

Sure but when you miss a few cards and it takes ages to have got them, it's the point where the system has it's limits.
Plus actually it's 100 SC for 1/5 chance to have a foil, so 500 SC to a random foil that you maybe already have in 4 copies.
Not really incitive imo.

I agree that it would be nice to be able to buy them at merchant with sc, im also a fan of foiled cards, tho nowadays you can also buy specific foil cards through PACs (aka pick a card).

And you dont even need to spend money to get PACs, you can, for example, play the SEF Challenge and win a certain amount of them. From 6 wins onwards with each team you receive an equal amount of PACs to your account, plus the special SEF Sleeves.

I would still love to see a foil exchange set up. I don't have clarity about the mechanics, but I think it would be awesome for community building if players could negotiate trades for their foils with other players. I would be that would be a popular forum subsection.

I don’t see trade as a good thing.

It is not difficult to get cards and creating a way for players to trade would take more money out of the games pocket.

In regards to outright buying Foils, I guess I would be on board with that. I would want to see a more streamlined idea for it though before I gave it anymore thought

I think making a different monthly deal too, which has more PAC, but no unique sleeve/playmat, could be a good idea for those people who want to spend for foils, but already have a favourite play mat/sleeve.
It's an extra source of funds and with the current rewards for SEF challenge apparently giving away a lot of PAC a month isn't that big an issue.
