[Discussion] First-ever Dark Prophecies Meltdown physical cards meetup in Singapore

Instead of allowing my Dark Prophecies Booster packs gather dust, it's time to put them to GOOD use!

Date and Time: That's what this thread is for: discuss the date and time! (Weekends are 98% out, sorry, the bulk of the Singapore Players would like to reserve time on weekends for family time)

Location: SG CardMart, 220-A Upper Thomson Road, Level 2, Singapore 574352

The Singapore players have also hosted Shadow Era players from other countries: Zhou and Kang from Malaysia, Index from China, and Udy from Indonesia. And So, if anyone of you is coming to Singapore in Feb/March/April, MAYBE we can organize the meet-up to coincide with your trip to Singapore and we can have some DP + CotC meltdown games!

The Singapore players would love more people to join the group: the more, the merrier!

The price?

That's something we should also discuss: Because DP boosters are in play now and since most of us already know how ingame meltdown works, and all of us are experts at it coughyeahrightcough, my suggestion is that it's best to have 3 CotC packs + 3 DP packs and the minimum deck size is to be 40, not 30 since the number of cards has increased. I am open to hear other suggestions, of course, i.e. sticking to YOUR CHOICE of 4 boosters of a mix between CotC and DP boosters.

I am personally not going to like to play with the favored mix of 3 CotC + 1 DP booster pack cos CotC is so so so 2 years ago and it's stale. And naturally, you cannot change the proportion of DP + CotC packs like how you would do ingame (LOL), and hence the suggestion of 6 packs (3 +3).

That would mean that it will be a little pricier for newcomers: It's $4 SGD a pack, that's $24. That is still very very affordable for a night/afternoon/evening of fun.

Plus, while I am sure that Wulven wants you to keep the DP/CotC cards that you purchased (I would encourage that too so that you can start collecting and making DP pre-constructed decks a.k.a QM decks), I would be happy to buy back anyone's DP boosters (all the cards) at half price, i.e $2 per DP booster pack.

Lastly, RL physical card games are very fun; much more fun and deeper (I dunno why!) than the digital game + the Singapore group of players are a cool bunch to chill out with.

Enough talk from me, the microphone over to you guys, we would like to hear from anyone, especially new players in Singapore! (any player working/living in Singapore, Expats and Foreigners are very welcome)

PS: Just bring yourselves to the event on the finalized event date. Berdugo, Geckt and I have all the accessories + dice + sleeves that everyone needs to play the physical card games.

actually, we need your cards. Boosters, to be exact. For now, I only have 24 DP booster + 24 CotC boosters. That's for 8 persons. My 2 other orders have not arrived.

Sorry to hear about condition of some of your packages. I have 2 cotc and 3 dp booster boxes with me now. The epic set's boosters boxes (both) were banged up on the corners but the cellophanes still intact. This is due to the rattling within the outer brown packing box.

It's still in much better conditions that some of you here.

Moving on, I think we both have ample supplies for the dp + cotc meltdown.

(It will be some time before I can play constructed, if ever. I don't have enough dp cards to make viable decks)

Btw, I will offer my DP packs for free. I planned to keep them and will be opening them to get the thrill of opening up booster packs. But I will put them back in the same packs for meltdown purpose.

Will that be ok with you guys?

I think I get Berdugo. There is an online booster generator by gdc?

You'll have to bring 3 (or 4) of each card from cotc to the meetup? It's not a bad idea at all. Saves each individual $12. I think I might just use this idea too.

But you'll need to use the generator in front of everyone? Everyone will see what cards u have? (Not a big deal IMO. If I have the amber/teeth/sstrike, I will still use it, bwaaaahhh, not that anyone can stop me. Bwaaahhh....)

Yes. there is a CotC online booster generator from GDC's site, posted somewhere here at the forums (at least last year it was still up). You put the number of boosters you want to generate and...poof! it became Koko Crunch! Er, I mean the booster is generated and sorted.

Option 1: A code is generated (probably by the TO), then you put that in the URL to reveal the list.

Option 2: We can generate the code ourselves in front of others. I believe it aint a big deal since you have to trim it down,plus you do not know what DP cards are used.

I was saying that the others don't need to buy the DP boosters. They can use it for free. They just need to return the boosters and all the cards to me at the end of the session.

I like the code idea too....

We'll all try to take care of your cards. I'll sponsor the use of sleeves: I have a lot of spare lying around: simply return the sleeves to me once all of us are done: we can also recycle these sleeves for next rd.

Regarding the rules:

I think it's easier to generate the 3 boosters BEFORE the meet-up so that we don't have to bring 3 (4) of each cotc card to the meetup.

Do we want to appoint a neutral non-player TO (It can be any active forum user/TO) to generate the code?
