In my attempt at finding decks to use Lay Low I have built this and Goddess of Negatia for Serena.

This version plays different to Serena who typically damages with weapons, to using and protecting weenies with Lay Low for damage when returned to hand by Shrine of Negatia.

A great rush deck with tools to protect weenies later in the game to finish off the hero. The deck tends to lose hard if the combos cannot be executed or are countered by Shriek. You can tank some heavy damage early depending on the match up to slowly draw the cards you need for a game winning combo and surprise the hell out of them for a major comeback while they have a massive army of allies stacked on the board.

In this deck you are also able to return Reconnaissance to your hand if needed for draw, damage, and scouting.

Well, I've finally got Cam Studio going so I've updated my OP with a demonstration video of how the deck should be played. I'll probably update all my decks at some point and include in future builds too.

The video is a good example of why so many cards are needed as we both have nearly the same cards in our draw pile by the end of the match despite starting with 12 more.

LOL that is some crazy deck, how consistent is this?, this combo seems like it might be hard to pull off in games where they kill your bazaar and/or IGG. How hard is it to dig for your lay low and rain delay?

I have been trying to find a good way to run bazaar into my decks but find I become overrun by decks that are super strong with extra draw like mages.

It's not very consistent, but there are a few ways to win especially when going first. Most games IGG is just resourced, and a bigger problem is item destruction of Lay Low or Rain Delay. The most difficult part which I am still learning is when to begin the Lay Low Shrine combo because too early is proving dangerous.

digging out Lay Low or Rain Delay is not the goal either, it's digging out Shrine of Negatia that can win/lose games, because without it neither are useful.

My last game was Vs a Lance which went very similar except he quit before the last turn. I hadn't drawn my last Shrine yet though, but I did manage to pretty much clear his board.

Looking at the card list I thought you were crazy with all the draw mechs, but dang that was a sweet game. I think your opponent also had a near perfect draw, they were just obliterating you in the first half before you set off your combo.

I think you should replace IGG with something else. even if it's just more rain delays or lay lows. I run Black Garb in deck in case i get overwhelmed early.

I still don't think this deck would be consistent enough. Even in the video it seems like 1 turn would've ended it either way.

No more Lay Low or Rain Delay are needed. There are two of each only to reduce the likelihood of them being buried too far down in the draw pile to ever reach once. Without Shrine of Negatia, neither of these cards would be useful (even with more Marshland Sentinels).

Whilst the video shows the power of the ideal combo, this deck can still win without it. It is not a top deck at any rate, however can do well against some match ups.

But sadly not more than that. Because the way the deck is now it will lose against most deck.

This deck has huge problems against:
Mages (direct damage + bazaar burn race), Priest (item destruction + tidal wave ), Plasma Behemoth based decks, Decks with lots of shriek.

Also the deck is very slow (what? slow? but there are lots of weenie rush allies in there!) Yes there are. But the fact, that you have 52 cards makes this deck very slow and it will have problems against faster decks because there is no rly defense if you have no insane draw luck in your starting hand.

These are the only correct statements, and matches can still be won Vs both these styles.

As far as Mages and Plasma Behemoth are concerned I don't think you realise that Lay Low prevents targeting so only Supernova is an issue which is only a factor if they hold early board control which is not easy against this deck.

Updated OP with another video against Zal, where three Plasma Behemoth summoned didn't help.

The last Shrine was the last card I drew in that match as well so it was much closer than it looked, heh.

Statistically speaking,

52 cards deck with 4 of kind start out with 40.38%, and 40 cards deck with 3 of kind start out with 40.30%. So basically no difference. But by having you reduce down towards 40 cards deck, the potential key card that you keep 4 of kind i.e. Negatia will have 50.25% at first turn.

If your deck is not suffering from Deck out, perhaps considering reducing deck card down may be an option to improve your chance of drawing Negatia by 10%.

Not suffering at all with 4 x Bazaar, 3 x IGG, 2 x Reconnaissance, and 4 x Bad Santa.

The only time it can sometimes struggle is when you know your support abilities will be in jeopardy so you need to diverge from the standard set up to hit hard and fast and get draw out later in the match.

In some match ups Shrine is used to starve your opponent mid game by returning Bazaar once IGG is out and the rest you can use to return Reconnaissance instead.

On Zaladar's fifth turn how come he didn't do anything?
Also, I'm curious, but doesn't this seem like a human Moonstalker deck?

He accidentally skipped his action phase. I remember during the match him typing "??" after. If it mattered I wouldn't have recorded the match.

Yes, it is very much a Human hiding deck, more limited in turns of hiding, but with the addition of stealth and hast ability.

Seriously. What a wtf deck. It is a freaking work of art when it's running.

Reminds me of those annoying MTG combo decks that seem to go on forever, as you watch helplessly by the side. Thank god feedback doesn't belong to the hunters.

Heh. Well, actually Serena was the first Hero I built this style for with Goddess of Negatia. Having built this Lance deck I can see a big room for improvement in that build, but I still think it suits Lance a bit better to be honest now.

I haven't because I don't like combo decks. I'm sure the satisfaction is enormous when you win applying the combo but I find it hard and frustrating to be honest to try and get the appropriate cards for the combo. Same reason I find Gwen frustrating. SS+RF is bad. 5+5 combo. No, thank you. I'm sure there are good Gwen players. Actually, I deem myself a good Gwen player but it's so fricking dependant on luck. I hate it. In a game with a perfect draw (which is hard to achieve with Gwen), you may get all your Rapid Fire but none of your weapons may show up. Sure, when you get her rolling, it's sweet but when you don't... %&!'3+*]]/$#&&

I have, beat a couple elads and a nish down with it. can't find the matches in history though. The combo is awesome when rolling.

Yes, Gwen does well against mages and Zaladar. I once got only one SS through the whole game and I was down to 6 cards at the end of the game. Can you believe it? Not to mention instances of not getting a single SS whole game.

Updated OP with a video Vs Gwenneth.

The key factor in my Negatia builds is the amount of draw required to be able to achieve the sequential loops of Lay Low, or Rain Delay. Achieving this once will not likely change the outcome of the match so you need to be able to repeat it as many times sequentially as you can. This of course makes it vulnerable to item destruction builds like Shadow Heroes with Shriek, and Priests with Focused Prayer. Hopefully they will use these cards to destroy the other items you use beforehand.

It is not neccissary to have too much Rain Delay and Lay Low as the idea is these are only first played once you already have one Shrine of Negatia in hand so you can super draw the rest to chain the combo. You will require at least 50 cards to be able to achieve this successfully.

The staple cards for the strategy I use with Lance are:

4 x Bazaar
4 x Bad Santa
3/4 Ill-Gotten Gains
2 x Reconnaisance (You want to be scouting for counter cards; Supernova; Tidal Wave; Focused Prayers, Shriek, etc)
4 x Shrine of Negatia
2 x Lay Low
2 x Rain Delay (important to be able to link with Lay Low if you do not draw a Shrine at the right time)
4 x Stop Theif! (for the extra resources, and draw with IGG)
2 x Assassins Cloak (to keep weenies alive ignoring weapons of your opponent)
3/4 Weapons (to help stall if needed)
4 x Birgitte
4 x Blake (at least 6-8 2cc allies total)

The remaining compliment of allies should be as low cc as possible. Marshland Sentinel can still use ability when Lay Low or Rain Delay in play, and can help save a match.

A high number of 1cc and 2cc allies are needed to dump cards as resources increase so that Bad Santas can optimise card draw to dig Shrine of Negatia out of your draw pile to chain the Lay Low and Rain Delay combos. For the most part you will want to ignore the board and go for the throat. If you have IGG in play you may want to destroy some allies to help draw more Shrine of Negatia, or Bad Santas to dig them out.

You still want to try and end your turn with no more than 5 cards in hand to maximise Bazaar draw (without wasting key cards like Shrine of Negatia).

With a great draw you can win matches by chaining two/three protected attacks, however often you will need every Shrine of Negatia to win without alternating from the Negatia combo strategy.

It seems like there's a lot of useless cards to me, and the deck itself seems far too large to rely on any individual cards for support. A lot of cards contradict each other. For example, what purpose does Ill-Gotten Gains serve when you already have Bad Santa? Same goes for Bazaar.

Marshland Sentinel is a weak card that's easy to kill and it uses up your shadow energy. Replace with Raven Wildheart.

Blake is another weak card. I'd just remove him entirely along with the 4x Bazaar & Ill-Gotten Gains. That brings your deck to 41, much more workable.
