Being sick of getting turn 5 mind controlled and not wanting to resort to robbery to stop the recursion. I have tried to create a deck that will stop that mind control (and all the other horrible 5 cost spells) from ever hitting me.
1 Jericho Spellbane - I find his ability more usefull than healing. Especially agains Warriors and Wolves
4 Puwen Bloodhelm - love Puwen, he's just fat enough
3 Blake Windrunner - love this slim fellow not so much, but he has a good punch
4 Aldon the Brave - Yummy!
4 Plague - The core of the deck
4 Wizen't Staff - Core to the deck as well, as it is needed to speed up recovery after Plaque,
2 Cobraskin Wraps - Support resource removal
2 Destroy Arms - mainly for Bazars and Study
2 Tidal Waves - To have a chance to catch up to an opponent who has gotten the lead
1 Resurrection - I find that I almost always have to use all my cards and sometimes I miss that extra punch in the end-game, despite having a "lock" with the Plagues
2 Curse - Making my guys last longer
2 Smite - for getting rid of too large allies or for that final killing zap. Unsure about these though, they seem to be resourced most of the time.
1 Retreat - useful in combination with Plague because it is cc 2 and will send back fat enemy. Unsure about it, as that ally can then be resourced
32 cards altogether.
The strategy is to get a (sometimes tiny) board advantage and then lock down with plaques and nibble away at the opposing hero.
Suggestions?
P.S. I did consider Sandra Trueblade, but she is way to expensive and the "if they have more resources than you" clause makes her as good as useless in this deck. If my opponent has more resources than me I am in way more trouble than an overpriced Puwen can get me out of. Suggestion: get rid of the "if they have more resources than you" and make her destroy one resource on each side.
