As seen on our weekly twitch.tv live stream, we're pleased to reveal the first few details about the next expansion to Shadow Era: Shattered Fates!
The new set will feature 200 new cards, including 10 new heroes! The war has taken its toll and brought more and more inhabitants of Balor into the conflict. In this set, many of those new participants are from tribes - each of which has been introduced in a previous set, but their tribal significance has not yet been seen from a gameplay perspective. Not to be left out, tribes from shadow worlds will also be making their mark.
We'll be unveiling many more spoilers in the weeks to come! But first, some background lore...
As the moon set, another petty squabble erupted among what remained of the Shadow's forces. If he'd been asleep, the noise would have likely awoken the tactician were he able to sleep to begin with. Arthyle looked down over the map again carefully while he waited for one of the tribal leaders to step in and reign in their soldiers, his temper kept back only by a sheer force of will.
It had been weeks since the battle at Fort Rothem
. Weeks since Gunther had led the human armies up the side of Mount Balor itself to assault the impressive building named for their former king. The advantage had belonged to the Shadow, and Arthyle held no doubt that given a few more hours the Human armies would have suffered too many losses to continue the attack. With the knowledge to be gained from the Conduit, it even appeared the war was coming to its end.Then something unpredictable had happened.
Somehow Loest
had interfered with the device, and triggered an explosion no one could have foreseen. What numbers of Shadow's forces that weren't destroyed by the blast itself lost their footing and resolve. It was a matter of minutes before the sounds of retreat were signaled and Arthyle was forced to watch the army he'd helped to lead, helped to guide, slip into the shadows once more. Now the infighting was becoming more than he could tolerate.Yet he knew there was still hope. The Conduit was not the only weapon the Aldmor had left behind for him to acquire.
Slowly Arthyle's decrepit lips curled into a cruel smile, as he drew a sheet of parchment and scribbled a series of orders down for his personal aide. The ravagers were cruel, but intelligent and he knew his request would be fulfilled to the letter. It was time to gather the leaders of the various shadow worlds together and call forth their warriors to battle once more. There was work to be done.
