Each match between competitors will consist of a series of games each referred to as a "round." Both players will play to the best of three, if a player wins two rounds in a row it is referred to as an "unanimous decision" and that player is decleared the winner of the match. If after the first two rounds both competitors win a round a piece then the match is now conducted to play best out of five. Once a player is victorious in three full rounds that player is declared the winner of the match, referred to as a "split decision." Starting player will alternate each round.
So essentially, if p1 wins game 1 and p2 wins game 2, the games are played until one has three wins. However, if one player wins the first two games in a row (meaning both going first and second, before and after boarding), they're declared the winner without the need to play out any further.

"Competitors will have an oppurtunity to switch cards between their main deck and sideboard in between rounds, NOT during rounds."

this from the used website confuses me

it kinda suggests that a round = a series of 3 games?

so the winner needs to win 3 rounds

I can see where you could read it that way. I just sort of assumed a round construed a single game within the series, not the series itself, because that would mean a single match might look like this:

    Round 1: 2-1 (1-0)
    Round 2: 1-2 (1-1)
    Round 3: 2-1 (2-1)
    Round 4: 1-2 (2-2)
    Round 5: 2-1 (3-2)

That would mean 15 games. Assume each game takes 15 minutes, then add 5 mins each round for sideboarding/shuffling, needing to step away to alleviate bowels, etc. and you're talking over four hours that have to be set aside just for one matchup. That's a lot of time for people to schedule to play in one sitting. I don't see how it's very reasonable.
