To celebrate the Lunar New Year, I am pleased to bring you the Hongbao Special Draft Meltdown Tourney to be held on Friday 15 February 2013.
Details of the tournament are set out as follows:
Tourney: Hongbao Special Draft Meltdown
Date: 15 February 2013 (Friday)
Time: 6 pm (Singapore time). Those interested in pre-con are welcome to meet at 4 pm.

Participation fee: S$15.00
Prize: Redemption Codes from boosters. Champion and runners-up will split the booster codes 2:1

Rules
1. Draft Meltdown format. There will be 4 booster packs per player. To start, each player opens one pack at the same time, removes the Redemption card and hero card (excluding any foils) and places it in the middle, then selects one card from the pack and passes the pack to the left. When the player is handed a booster from the person to their right, they again select one card and pass the pack to the left. This is continued until the booster pack is emptied. Once the pack is emptied the players will open their next pack, draft a card, and pass the cards to the right. The 3rd pack will be drafted and passed to the left. The process continues until all boosters are emptied and players have drafted the appropriate number of cards. At this point, the players will construct the best deck possible of at least 30 cards. Each player will be given 4 heroes randomly and there will be no class restrictions.
2. Foil heroes and redemption codes are to be removed and go towards the final prize.
3. If there are 4 or 5 participants: League (top 2 play in a Bo3 finals).
4. If there are 6 to 11 participants: Split into two groups with round-robin matches to be played within each group. Top player from each group emerging to play in a Bo3 finals.
5. If there are 12 or more participants: Split into four groups with round-robin matches to be played within each group. Top player from each group emerging to play in a Bo3 semi-finals, and finalists in a Bo3 finals.
6. Scoring: For League and round robin, each player is required to play every other player in the league or group in a two-game match. In a two-game match, each player will take decide on the first person to start for the first game, and in the second game, the other player will start. For each victory in a game, that player wins 2 points. No points will be awarded to the losing player. For a game that is drawn, each player is awarded a point each.
7. In the event of a tie on points, players are to play a Bo1 game (random first turn) if head-to-head scores between such players are not conclusive. Tournament Organiser’s decision in any uncertainty shall be final and conclusive.
8. Sync errors, disconnects and frozen games do not apply here.
Following the fun and success of the Singapore Inaugural Meltdown and Kyle's Meet The Creator Meltdown, I hope we will similarly enjoy ourselves for this Hongbao Special. Anyone interested in pre-con games or card trades on that day, Raphael Majere and I will be at the venue from 4 pm.
