Rating system

Ok, i've posted a few days ago on some other thread about this, but nobody answered. I'm really frustrated about the rating system (and trust me i am not the only one). For 3 months my rating is about 240, somethimes little more, but it can decrease easier. I am winnig most of the time, but i cannot raise my rating.
You see, if i lose to someone whose rating is much lower than mine, for example 30, my rating drops for 2, 3, sometimes more, but when i win against them i'm not gaining any rating at all. I need to win 3 times against them to gain just 1.
I think we could gain at least 1 rating up for a win, doesn't matter if he is a noob or not, a win is a win. I know the phrase "easier said than done", and I also know that the ratings will probably be reseted for the expansion, but at least consider my complaint and do something about that, you will have plenty of time before the release of DP expansion as I can see...

All I can advise u with is just ignore the ratings. Aim for gold and SC to get the new set coming soon. Seriously, ratings have become meaningless; Most of the top players are rated around the bottom of the ladder.

ooops seems like a typing error. There are a few more, like I sad, i'm frustrated... The ratings will be important for the world championship(s).

Hi there,

This is how the system works if a season is carried on for some time. The uncertainty in the server will get smaller and smaller, and ratings will not be able to rise so easily. You lose points more when you lose, and gain less points when you win. It has been the same for every season. If you want high ratings, play QM from the start of the season where 1 win will get you 4-6 points each.

It has been known that only the no.1 ranking will get the invite to the world championships. And maybe only top 5 or top 10 will battle for another spot? Nobody knows yet. Either way, if you are not top10 in rankings, it wouldn't make a difference in terms of chances to enter the world championships. A better bet would be to join official tournaments, you not just gain valuable tournament experience, there are also prizes to be won.

Top 2 to top 5 will fight it out in a round robin for another place in WC. It has been announced by gdc.

That system seems to make sense to me. If you are winning as much as losing against lower level opponents...your score should be dropping. And if they are much lower then yours you should have to be winning much more often to maintain your rating.
