We have artwork on MOST cards, why blow up the exact same artwork for a playmat?
Even better, why not make the cards fit to the artwork instead of just covering it up so badly? Would moving the graveyard to the right a bit more and hero to the left a bit more so the wolf can be seen decently be that difficult?

I'd like to see some epic artwork for playmats such as a Frosted Urigon attacking a Furrion Terror fire and ice background. Or Victor Heartstriker shooting at Dome of Energy. Zoe Silversmith being responsible for Crippling Blow would look awesome I think. Fangs of the Predator lunging at well anything would probably be my top pick though. I do realize the art dept at wulven isnt exactly the biggest group of go getters (still like half SF cards placeholders) but if you want to know what I want, itd be stuff like this. Even better...portray scenes from the lore on playmats so maybe some of us that don't care about the lore at all would start.

You made some good points on the play mats, at 500 SC to buy one they definitely should reflect the cost, the way they are now you can't pay me to use them.

I think a lot of others are voicing things on the mats and I figure the DEV's know they fall short now, the concept is very cool but they need to be "special" in order to warrant the cost and use. In fact in terms of math and economics - 5 times as special as card sleeves, and right now they aren't even half as special. (maybe plan on a future where they go out of print and become tradable in a.. hmmm ?)

I too would like to see some new control settings, if I can turn off the sound and music I want to be able to turn off animations (including the card drawing). For me good art and cards as well as mechanics and balance makes the game very worthwhile.

I am guessing that all the other "need to do first" stuff (fix bugs, balance cards, finish the SF cards!) takes priority over environment visuals so looking forward to whats in store, great work so far - can't wait till it's epic work!

    like the targeting lines.

don't like the new draw animation.

playmats look so cheap, wouldn't even use if they were for free.

One of the best parts of Shadow Era is the visuals and there is a major downgrade in visuals in this test server version. I'm not sure how much of that is just because it's test server, but the larger text and lines make it look cheesy.

I would opt for hovering zoom lens instead of enlarged icons. They don't look nice.

Really? 100SC seems pretty on par and actually cheaper than HEX... Way cheaper than MTGO.

I did some quick back-of-a-napkin calculations. Let's compare.

GAME DRAFT BOOSTER DOLLAR VALUE CONSTRUCTED DOLLAR VALUE
    Shadow Era 700 SC (boosters incl) 100 SC $7.00 100 SC $1.00
    HEX 100 platinum + 3 boosters 200 platinum $7.00 500 platinum $5.00
    MtG:O 2 tickets + 3 boosters $4 $14.00 6 tickets $12.00

    100 SC = 100 platinum = $1.00. I'm told MtG:O tickets go for roughly $2.00.

That doesn't seem too bad now, does it? Of course these are rough estimates (in both MtG and HEX you can boosters cheaper than MSRP), but still.

Do you play HEX? I am in the closed beta because i grabbed a code but i have no idea how to earn new cards for free. I have the starter deck and the starter deck challenge extra cards.

I do And I heard your name get mentioned on the Threshold podcast, so I knew you were playing as well

For now you cannot earn new cards for free, as the PVE part of the game hasn't been implemented yet. They're still working on that. Once PVE goes live you can earn gold playing PVE for free. You can then use gold on the Auction House to buy cards or packs. Until then, you'll have to spend money to buy platinum and buy cards. If you're going for maximum value, -never- open boosters outside of a draft tournament because then you'll at least have a chance at winning more packs and gold

There's a separate thread about HEX in the General forum. Actually, there's more threads, but this is the one that's currently active. -> http://www.shadowera.com/showthread....-Hex-(mmo-tcg)

So far I've spent EUR 42.00 on HEX. Both for platinum (to buy boosters, cards and access to tournaments) and for a VIP membership (1 booster a week, plus access to VIP tournament).
