    1.28 Victor Advice

I know the hunters have a limited card pool these days and all but I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to deal with heavy damage weapon dealers, namely Gwen and Amber. By the time i get to around 4 or 5 allies, i'm dead. Their ability costs 3 so its pretty spammable for the damage they put out. I could get lucky with a Poor quality/Acid Jet (I've been playing Victor and sometimes Banebow), but with 40 cards you don't always have these options. I may get lucky and get an into the forest, but that only delays the inevitable. And with things like dual wield and the Lily running around, I find that I just get smashed in the death race. I know that this is the meta right now, but I don't think thing's will change much in 1.29 as I don't see many defensive cards that can stop/mitigate/counter this kind of damage.

So are there any Victor players (or banebow, or even badaruu) that have found any sound strategies to consistently beat amber or gwen?

I have only played Victor thus far, and I have struggeled mightily to finally break 200 on the ranking...

I tried a lot of different build strategies, but I've settled on one that's heavy on cheap allies, armor and weapons. I found if you try to get cute with situational cards (like Ambush), you end up waiting too long for just the right moment--and by then you've been blasted by 3 fireballs...

That being said, if I don't get board control early, it's a struggle. But cheap allies (and protectors) allow me to slowly get back into the game to at least make it competitive...

Well, maybe post a decklist. What kind of Victor are you running?

Victor is a hard deck to play to victory these days. I have been playing with Victor a lot since 1.29 came out, with different builds. I have found that the best build is ally-heavy, with Wrath of the Forest, Honored Dead, and Tainted Oracles to keep the stream of guys coming. Use arrows/ability against their allies and do as much damage as quickly as possible. Keep the stream of allies coming and finish off with Soul Seekers if need be.

Edit: for reference, I have been hovering around 250 for a while and just hit 258 beating a 289 Amber player with my Victor.
