Do ongoing mean pretty much the same as enchantments or auras in MTG?

Yes, it means the effect will last more than just one turn. There are also cards that will remove all effects from targets.
Think you've already said that abilities can stack, therefore if you stacked 3 of these on an ally, it would be hitting +3, if your opponent then used a dispel/item removal/disenchant card on the ability would it remove it completely or just knock it down a level ie to +2?
Actually I said that effects do NOT stack, since you can't be more on fire, or more enraged. Well, maybe you can be more enraged, but anyways effects do not stack. You can however use differently named cards with similar effects, like maybe there is another +1 attack card
