Odd how you can preempt the Mac App Store and release it outside of the store yet they won't let you prerelease with the iOS App Store.

This is because there has never been any other way to provide apps for iOS. But there is an established software distribution for the mac.
I also think you are not allowed to sell cheaper outside of the appstore but in this case it is free.

People that even know what Cydia is should be aware of how strict Apple is with the App Store and know that they would never tolerate any Apple developer releasing apps on Cydia.
