    1.27 40-card Lance deck

No witty names here - I play SE pretty casually, so my rank hasn't gotten over 180, and I haven't really sat down to hammer out/fine tune a deck before. That said, I realized Birgitte could be great with Lance's Hero ability, letting me save my 5 cc drops to be meatier. So here's what I'm looking at now:

    Lance

    2x Jasmine
    2x Kristoffer Wyld
    2x Birgitte Skullborn
    2x Raven Wildheart
    2x Aldon the Brave
    2x Earthen Protector
    3x Assassination
    3x Reconnaissance
    3x Throwing Knife
    2x Sorcerous Poison
    2x Stop, Thief
    3x Assassin Training
    2x Mugged
    4x Nightshade
    4x Campfire Stories
    2x Night Prowler

I realize that I probably should take out some of the '2x' so I can get more consistent draws, but at least right now, I feel like I have a decent distribution of plays at each casting cost. I'm thinking about taking out the Throwing Knives (and consequently the Sorcerous Poisons too) because Lance doesn't need them as much as Serena does, and that's five slots I could use to double up on allies. Then I could swap the Night Prowlers for Crimson Vests.

I have no ego in this, so any suggestions would be great!

Cool, Lance is fun. If nothing else I would do this and it'll work better:

    +2 Jasmine
    +2 Birgitte
    -4 Campfire stories
    1.25, 1.26, 1.27: 40 card decks, Big Bad Baduruu
1.28/1.29 - best forgotten except for Elementalis Prime Grindage

    1.5 - it's all good Naughty Gwenches

1 problem I see is lack of draw. Check out the decks in my sig for an example.

I play a Lance deck that reached 195 before crashing back down to ~175. Few thoughts here:

    1. Lance is best combined with Protectors. I'd add 1 Birgitte and 2-3 Aeons.
    2. Mugged and campfire stories don't really fit this deck (weak units). I'd recommend pulling them.
    3. Throwing knives/sorcerous poison/night prowler don't fit Lance's strengths like Serena and conflict with high resource cost cards like Raven/Earthen Protector/Stop Thief. I'd pull them.
    4. Lance already provides Stealth/ambush. You can probably pull the 3 Assassin Training and the night shades. Night shades get killed quick by direct damage like Death Mage Thaddeus or lightning bolts.
    5. Visible draw card issues. I'd add 3-4 Bad Santas. A risky move is to add Ill Gotten Gains. This tends to only work in the mid-late game, but combines well with Assassinate and Stop Thief. If you can survive long enough to get this out, this card can be the game changer.
    6. Lance's ability combined with Protectors (Birgitte/Aeon) gives other allies room to operate without getting killed. Consider more allies with abilities like more Jasmines or Marshland Sentinels.

I find that Lance runs into the biggest problems with board clearing abilities (Tidal Wave/Nova) like priests/mages. I have yet to find a consistent strategy to beating these heroes aside from withholding units from board clears or rushing them with a weenie unit/recon/aldon combo.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks all - I'm glad some of my initial impulses are confirmed here. I've already put some of these changes in. Just got raise funds to fill it out.

I have a strange feeling that any Lance deck that has any chance at being competitive needs to be 30 cards and have 4 Bazaars. The versions above look kind of terrible IMO.

Nope, CodeDomination's Ninja Assassin is 40 cards, and even if i've never tried it i think it's very well built.
Actually... It seems everyone feels the same about that deck!

I appreciate the complement. I spent a lot of time trying to make lance work, and I do believe my deck is about as good as lance gets atm.

    sorry for the hijack.

Yeah, but is anyone actually winning with it against decent players? I would have seen it by now.
