1.27 Lance build - Shutdown deck

As I've previously mentioned, I'm a new SE player and I'm still saving money for new cards. As of now this build is only in my mind, as I currently have 0 rogue heroes and 3 rogue cards. haha Anyhow, I was kicking around possible build designs and wanted feedback on this build:

    Lance
    X2 Puwen
    X2 Blake
    X4 Jasmin
    x4 Marsh Sentinel
    x4 Raven
    x2 Earth Protector
    x2 Aeon

    x4 Cover of Night
    x6 Rogue/Human cards: (Recon / Stop Thief / Ill Gains / Mugged)

    Tweaks from Discussion:

    Lance
    x2 Birgitte (+2)
    X2 Blake
    X4 Puwen (+2)
    X2 Jasmin (-2)
    x4 Marsh Sentinel
    x4 Raven
    x2 Aeon
    (dropped x2 Earth Protector)

    x4 Cover of Night
    x6 Rogue/Human cards: (Recon / Stop Thief / Ill Gains / Mugged)

    -----

This kinda feels like a feast or famine build, that succeeds or fails primarily off card draw %.

    Ally Strategy:
    T1: Hold
    T2: Puwen or Blake
    T3: Jasmine
T4: Marsh Sentinel (cover with Lance ability which can’t be stripped)
    T5: Cover of Night
~If you already have board control, you could shift Cover of Night to T6
    T6: Raven / Marsh Sentinel
    T7: Raven / Marsh Sentinel
    T8+: Adapt to situation

    Logic:
    T1-T3: low-cost board presence
~If by start of T4 you don’t already have MS and CoN, all bets are off on this strategy
T4: MS is brought onto board and covered by Lance ability to ensure MS lives to T4
T5: Protect board with Cover of Night for another 2 round calm (which can’t be stripped)
T6: Bring in second shutdown ally (you will quickly deplete Lance energy with 2 Sentinels though)
T7: Bring in third shutdown ally (you will quickly deplete Lance energy with 2+ Sentinels though)
~Earth Protector will merely bring a stronger shut-down ally back onto board (replaced with cheaper Birgittes)
~Aeon merely offers more protection for existing shut-down allies

I’m not sure if Cover of Night “attacked” speaks of melee damage only, or targeted spell as well.

    Thoughts? Ideas? Feedback?

Potential problems: Plasma Behemoth (solution: assassinate?)

You can also protect or buy time by Lay Low.Brigette too.Assasinates will help your Plasma problems

EDIT: On your deck, you have so many high cost allies and spells.High chance is your starting hand will most of the time be filled with Marsh and Raven, which you may end up saccing. If you can hold on and endure early creature hoard, then you'd be good (or the opponent plays bad :P)...

I'm not sure, as I only own three rogue cards. Did I already mention that?

That's why I'm asking all the "pros" if it's a workable build...

I see your point on high cost allies. Would -4 Jasmine (+2 Puwen +2 Blake) or (+4 Wyld) be enough to offset that, you think?

In AI games and the few games I've played online, I'm generally not concerned about the damage I soak up before T5... the games tend to sway back in my favor as more heavy hitters come out to play...

Your Lance "Crouching Skullborn, Hidden Blake" seems like a solid swarm build... and thats it's purpose...

This build is trying to rotate around an increasing "shut-down" board presence... would dropping Cover of Night help achieve that?

Hijack alert... can I do that to my own thread??? haha

Last night I played two matches before calling it a night and I was thinking that the guts of this "shut-down" build could easily be shifted to Boris as well. The primary differences being: a) Boris ability offers crowd-control value, b) Valiant Defender is a cheaper Cover of Night and c) Crippled Blow extends the "shutdown" theme of deck.

Cover doesn't shut down anything. Its to expensive and their are many ways to get threw it.

Of course. But Marsh Sentinel and Raven shut down, especially if you get 2 or 3 on the board.

Cover of Night is merely there to increase survivability while they recover from summon sickness.

I DID mention -- "I’m not sure if Cover of Night “attacked” speaks of melee damage only, or targeted spell as well."
