    Shadow Era Logic Puzzle 1

This is a made-up scenario done for the purpose of this puzzle

    SHADOW ERA TOURNAMENT
The latest Shadow Era Tournament is almost over, and with 8
players left, it’s heating up. Each of the 4 remaining forum goers
is playing a different deck size with their favourite hero, and each
is booked in for a different time slot.

From the clues given, can you work out which hero each
of these 4 players is playing, the size of their deck, and at what
time they are going to be playing?

    1. The person with a Time Slot at 5:30pm doesn't play 40 cards.
    2. The person whose deck size is 40 is not AnAdolt or Bashere.
    3. The person who specializes in Baduruu is not AnAdolt.
    4. Of the person whose deck size is 30 and CalmDown, one has the 6:00pm Time Slot and the other has the 7:00pm Time Slot.
    5. The person whose deck size is 60 is CalmDown.
    6. The person who specializes in Logan is not Drakkon.
    7. AnAdolt has an earlier Time Slot than the person whose deck size is 30.
    8. The person who specializes in Serena has an earlier Time Slot than the person who specializes in Logan.
    9. The person whose deck size is 50 doesn't like Logan.
    10. The person whose deck size is 60 loves to play DarkClaw.
    11. The person with a Time Slot at 6:00pm doesn't play Baduruu and has less than 60 cards.
    12. Either the person who specializes in Logan or the person who specializes in Serena is Bashere.

Below is a printout if it makes it easier for you

I thought Drakkon would be playing darkclaw not calmdown. I didnt realise he didnt play him anymore.

You should clarify that this is a made-up scenario.

The printout makes it way too easy.. should have required ppl to make their own Although there's no way to know the 4th time without the printout, as the clues only mention 3 time slots (My guess was a 6:30 time, rather than 7:30, for the last, so they were all spaced out a half hour).

Also on the left side the hero names and times should be switched. The middle middle box is redundant otherwise (heros match heroes), and there's no spot to match deck size with heroes (for the purposes of clue 9, for example).

In any case, this is a fun mental exercise.. I had my students do a similar, but easier, one the other day for their warm up.

I solved it, but I won't post the answer so others can enjoy.

    SPOILERS BELOW THOUGH..

This could have even been harder - I already knew several of the clues from other ones, without needing them (12, for example, was unused, 7&8 are redundant, etc).

    Well spotted on the printout.

Yeah I made a generator for the puzzles. Lots of stupid algorithms to come up with a puzzle . It's almost there, a few more tweaks and they should be good.

    Glad you liked it

This is correct. In that clue, there are two players. One of them is running a 30 card deck. The other is called CalmDown. One of those two is playing at 6pm. The other is playing at 7pm.

That was fun; thanks MattOG. -- it was like studying LSAT's all over again.
