How do you define "next week"?

Currently, it's Saturday where I am. I refer to "this coming week" as this following Monday and the coming work week. If I say "next week", I'm referring to next Monday, or more specifically, Monday, September the 12th.

However, some people refer to "next week" as whatever week that's coming up. I guess their "next next week" would be my "next week".

Curious as to how you use the phrase "next week".

Next week starts on the first Monday after today. ALWAYS!

If i'm in the middle of the week the coming week is "the next week" ??!

Well, first, as far as I know, weeks start at sunday, so today (saturday) next week, would be from tomorrow (sunday) until next saturday. But, as from tomorrow, next week will be the week starting the sunday after the sunday of tomorrow.

Weeks start on a Monday. That is why Saturday and Sunday are the weekEND.

And NEXT means immediately after THIS.

I'm Filipino and this has always confused me. I originally thought that "next week" refers to the same day of the following week (i.e. "next week" is Saturday, September 10). That was until my friends corrected me. They say that "next week" refers to the following week, starting Monday.

But, really, it's all to-may-toes and to-mah-toes, right? Haha

When I say next week there have to be at least several days between the real next week and me saying it. If on sunday, I say next week, it would be absurd to mean the following day, since then you would just say "tomorrow". Next week would then be in 8 days.

Since post people have a different opinion, it might be easier to use dates
