It was always like this.
First player DON'T get card first turn AND DON'T get Shadow Energy.
I really don't understand why people complain so much about going second, I think its really balanced, specialy now with the new cards.

That was and has always been the case, iGiggle; you don't draw and gain SE on your first turn if you're the one that goes first.
