I think it's fair to say that the multicolored August leagues have gone well!
This thread is for people to sign up for the next season, which will start 1st September, and will likely be played exclusively on 1.27.
For this season, there will be five leagues:
* Blue and Green aimed at U.S. timezones
* Yellow and Orange aimed at European timezones
* Red aimed at Asia/Pacific timezones
When signing up, be aware that you will need to be able to play at least seven best of three matches in one month, and you should be able to respond to Private Messages in a timely fashion.
Post below and state your colour preferences. In the case of over-subscription, priority will be given to players who played all seven of their matches in August and then whoever signed up first on this thread.
FULL RULES:
* All matches are to be played in September 2011.
* Decks need at least 39 cards + Hero.
* There will be five leagues (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and Orange), with eight/nine players in each.
* Each player plays each other player in their league once, in a three-game match. You always play 3 games, regardless of whether someone is 2-0 ahead. (Reasons will become clear in the SCORING section.)
* Players will be paired up with two matches to be played each week. If you cannot play a match in a given week, then a match date for a future week must be agreed in advance with your opponent and the result marked "POSTPONED until X".
* When players have agreed a mutually convenient time for a given match, they should meet in the chat room at the agreed date and time. Not turning up gets you a Warning. Two warnings = auto-win for your opponent.
* Anyone who goes AWOL during the first five days of the league will be removed and replaced. Be sure to check your league thread and Private Messages so you can arrange your games. Exception: if you will not be around for those first five days, let people know in advance, and be sure to get your games in when you return.
* Who goes first in the first game in a match is decided randomly. The other player goes first in the second game (just quit and restart the game if the in-built random selection gets it the wrong way round). If there is a deciding match, the first person is chosen randomly.
* Results should be posted on the relevant league thread, so the league table can be updated.
* Within a match, you cannot make any deck changes.
* You can change your deck as much as you want, including Hero, between matches.
* The top two in each of the four leagues will face off in a single-elimination tournament to decide the overall winner for September.
SCORING:
* you get 1pt for playing a match
* you get 1pt for winning a match
* you get 1pt for each game you win
Winning 3-0 therefore gets you 5pts. Winning 2-1 gets you 4pts. Losing 2-1 gets you 2pts. Losing 3-0 gets you 1pt for turning up. Not turning up gets you 0pts.
