Hero selection for a fairly new player

    Hi all,
I found out about Shadow Era a couple of weeks ago, and like it a lot. I built a deck around Majiya (found out later she was popular), and after a lot of tweaking of the deck, I'm now satisfied and hade started to win more than I loose

I thought of trying another hero now, preferably another class than mage.

Any tips for a new player?

(I play on iPhone and have all the cards btw)

Thanks, and I look forward to see you in combat.

    Regards,
    Znakebyte

First, I'm glad you're trying other heroes. They're hard to win with, but much more fun than burn draw burn draw.

Second: It depends on your playstyle. I know zaladar is a high damage deck, but takes skill to learn. I'm trying to figure him out STILL.

So I would advise if you want allies, Gravebone, jericho, zhanna, eladwen maybe, nishaven maybe.

If you want to continue burn but without mages, gwen and amber are weapon based.

Personally I try to stay away from gwen, majiya, and amber. More challenging.

Thanks. I'll see if I have time to start a new deck tomorrow. Anyone else who has any advice to a newcomer?

Try playing Priests (Jericho, Zhanna). You'll be able to answer almost any situation with their cardpool and abilities. Zhanna is stronger against Mages while Jericho trumphs Warriors. You'll have good means of gaining boardcontrol through Jasmine, Raven, Retreat! and Tidal Wave. Nice class overall

Ter Adun is a fun hero to play with. Got board control, consistent draw, and decent allies.

My suggestion is too take a look at all cards and choose the hero that gives you the cards you like the most.
Avoid Elementalis, Wulvens, Rogues and Victor (only beacuse Gwen's better) if you like to win a lot. All other choices are good.
Baduruu is hard to play but I think it is a lot of fun

Try Priests. Jericho, preferably. Enjoy the myriad of playstyle it provides compared to the other classes.

Thanks again for more advice. I've been fooling around with Elementalis the last few days. Sometimes it's fun, but often very hard.

I will try out some priest builds now. Thanks!

as a zaladar myself, i'd say that if you want to break into elemental heroes, you should start with zaladar. like GS said, he can get kind of tricky, but he is much less complicated than elementalis, and using him will give you:

    a) a higher win rate
    b) more importantly, a better understanding of the elemental cards and functions.

Oh, thanks for the advice. I'll try a Zaladar build later then
