    "Zalman" - Zalaadar Explosive Deck

    My "Zalman" deck:

    1 Zalaadar
    4 Shriek
    3 Bad Santa
    2 Energy Discharge
    2 Eternal Renewal
    3 Shard of Power
    1 Mind Control
    4 Bloodlust
    4 Spark
    4 Fire Snake
    4 Brutalis
    3 Infernal Gargoyle
    ----
    35 Cards.
    (201 ingame rating)

    General Strategy:

The idea of this simple deck is lay down 3-4 cheap allies, and Shard/Bloodlust them to victory. Against ALL enemy heroes, you will find yourself very strong around turn 4-5, dealing 9-15 damage a turn. Problem arises around turn 4-5 (bows for Gwen, multi-burn for mages). Average resource for the game can range between 3 (vs hunters but mostly mages, because you can't afford sacrificing when they draw more than you) to 6 (vs warriors and rest). Never sacrifice 2 shards. When you draw gargoyles and brutalis mostly, consider if to play shard or not.

    Best play:
    T1: Spark
    T2: Spark + Spark, Attack (1 dmg)
    T3: Shard, Attack (9 dmg)
T4: Firesnake (or spark) + Bloodlust (15 dmg).

    Specific Heroes:
VS Gravebone: If possible, don't hit enemy allies, direct all damage to gravebone.
VS Elementalis: When 3 allies on board: shard.
VS Gwen: The worst match. Save shrieks for bows only, sacrifice Energy Discharge and MC. Play those Santas!
VS Nishaven: Never play all your allies, play the shard even if the gargoyle is going out.
VS Warriors: Sacrifice Eternal Renewal and maybe bruatlis. Save at least on shriek.
VS Mayija: Santas, MC the Plasma Behemoth, ~6 resources.

Do you find yourself using eternal renewal? I would think with this type of deck the goal is to win very quickly, and if it ends up late game you will be beaten by bigger casting cost late game cards (bows, ravens, behemoths etc). Taking those out may get you to cards you want that much more quickly.

My problem with the rush decks is that if cards don't come in the order you want, you will almost always lose. The farther you get from 30 card the less likely it becomes that you will be able to goldfish. As it is I also don't think you have enough draw to justify the renewals. Maybe replace them with MCs to deal with big allies and deal the final blows.

This deck does a GREAT job against ally decks (including Aeon/Behemoth). Only pitfall so far is Gwen, and Mind Control helps not.
What do you guys think about trading the Eternal Renewal for 1-2 AoA?
