    How is my Gwen deck?

    Hi guys!

I made a majiaya deck and now want to build a gwen deck also.

I bought alot of dark crystals! Im kinda addicted to the game now
I got around 1,000 dark crystals but what kind of deck should I spend it on?

    I thought something like this:

    Allies:
    4x Jasmine
    4x Puwen
    4x Aldon
    2x Aoen

    Items:
    4x Soul Seeker
    4x Beetle Demon Bow
    3x Retreat
    3x Posion Arrow
    2x Flaming Arrow
    3x Death Trap
    3x Net Trap
    2x Rapid Fire
    2x Into the Forest

    Do I need Aimed Shot??
    What else do I need??
Should I go for 30 or 40 cards and why??
I also thought about adding raven like 2x

Gwen is a weapon oriented hero
keep 2cc allies 4 of each, and 2 aldons, remove traps (players see you put them down), add 2-3 santas, 2 more into the forest, add 2 prowlers to suck the opponents hand and hide yourself in the forest right after not to waste weapon power or prowler

so what if the player see's the traps? They will fall for it if they need to summon a ally.

I never use santa, Why let the target also pick?
Into the forest must be 4x, its 1cc so yeah....
    What about research instead?
    Prowlers sounds nice too!
    Weapons are so expensive >.<
Need to 4x them with gold I guess :O

I love Santa (my favorite card, Kentuequi, i know yours is retreat)... if you don't have your weapon (and it happens even carrying 8 of them) it will save your game, choose the right time to cast, for ex majiya usually is high on cards, so think about yourself and your strategy

research is for mages, forget it

build up resources and concentrate on your weapon output and use allies as meat shields

    The build i run is:

    gwen (40 cards)
or for 30 card deck remove the *'s and drop a couple card qty's to 3

    2 erika*
    2 aldon*
    4 blake
    1 aeon*
    3 poison arrows
    3 fire arrows
    3 rapid fire
    4 retreat
    4 bad santa
    2 night prowler
    2 grave digger
    4 soul seeker
    1 guardians oath*
    4 BDB

gwen is all about attacking with weapons..
the strategy here is passive board control until you can get your bows equipped
    if i get 1st turn :
try to summon blake turn 2
turn 3 if only blake is in play bad santa, but I usually flame/poison/retreat something
snipe main with any blakes you summon
turn 4 depending on board(and hand) cast BDB or flame/poison/retreat
turn 5 cast whatever is best.
(casting night prowler here can often win the game as you have a high chance of looting a CC5+ card)
if u get 2nd turn, forget about blakes and just flame/poison/retreat until you can get bows up.

    the general gwen strategy..
    1) equip a weapon
    2) rapid fire
    3) clear the board
    4) equip armour

dont encourage drawing cards.. 1 weapon will last you a min. 2 turns, and the slower the play, the more chance gwen has of winning

the biggest down fall to gwen is not having item/weapon removal.
this is why i prefer a 40 card deck with a few extra allies.
but a 30 card deck is enough to get a feel for things and you can take it from there.

once you have the enemies board clear, playing gwen is really fun, there are so many options.. i prefer to go for the high attack allies..

    CC2.. blake v's puwen..
an early blake can reap serious damage, but is generally killed just as easy as puwen..
the only advantage puwen has is against cc1 allies, (only shadow) and only if you get 1st turn.. so only in 25% of games..
a blake is more likely to force your opponent into killing it the following turn, which means you are 1 turn closer to equipping a bow.

    CC3.. aldon v's jasmine
much the same reason as above (T2blake + T3 aldon = 16 damage by T4 if you get BDB out)

    CC5 erika v's raven..

this one is more a personal choice, but i like erika because she will stem the flow of allies from a warrior better, this is important because you dont want to use up all your weapons durabilities killing lowbie allies.

    ok, that's the allies covered..

    poison/flames v's traps

traps are only good to maintain board control..
poison/flames will give you board control the battle for gwen is to gain board control, once she has that the game is her to loose.

    into the forest..
i prefer to go without it.. if you want it you really need to go with 4, which means your decreasing your chances of getting a bow when you need it.. i used to bring it, but got too frustrated top decking into the forest when a bow would have won the game for me..

    bows/armour is a must..
depending on your draw, your armour can really help..
if you draw Soul seekers, cast grave digger
if you draw BDB, try to cast night prowler

the armours are your most powerful tool and should not be under estimated..
    eg..
    night prowler:
    looting a mages armour
    looting ambers' dual wield
    looting a ele's eternal reneweral/mind control
    grave digger:
    looting gravebane's mobs
looting a millers eternal reneweral (does this still apply to 1.6?)
    looting a warriors mobs/weapons
    looting an item/armour removal card

and both for general looting for resources.

    retreat:
probably my favourite card in game.. so many combo options..
i have often retreated a big ally then stole it with night prowler
great combo card with BDB.. (does this still apply to 1.6?)
    or my fav...
cast bad santa to fill opponents hand, then cast retreat on a ememy ally and he disappears from game.. LOL (does this still apply to 1.6?)

    bad santa
this card is essential, because if you find yourself without a bow, you're dead.
with a 30 card deck maybe 2 is enough.

sorry for the 'does this still apply' comments, I've been experimenting with Amber rain lately, as I'm fed up of not having item removal.

I would go for around 30-card deck. The game allows to have minimum 30 cards, it means it's an ideal number to which you should get as close as possible if you cant hit it. It allows you to build the deck with the highest possibility of drawing card you need at the right time without need to spend a couple of rounds just surviving, you don't have so much time with Gwen, wasting SS on killing low-cost allies in the end-game to heal yourself, is at first basically impossible (your opponent is not stupid to allow it to you!) or killing for example behemoth will cost you 2 shots out of 4, calculate :-) My Gwen deck is all about explosive damage output after turn 4, so, honestly, time plays against you.

Honestly Into the Forest is essential for Gwen, it allows you to keep prowler on as long as possible but its main advantage is not wasting your SS on defending but to keep it only for attaking 4+4 damage with rapid fire in one turn and hide yourself to do it again... :-) think about your lucky opponent...

4 puwens, 4 blakes (think about that your bdb transform into 3/5 ally :-)), 2+2 arrows, 4 into the forest, 2 santas, 2 rapid fire, 2 prowlers, 4+4 bows... + Gwen = 31 cards... Enjoy :-)
