40 card Moonstalker "Laying in Wait" 1.26 development

    ALLY
    3 x Deathbone
    3 x Infernal Gargoyle
    3 x Plasma Behemoth
    4 x Pack Wolf
    3 x Bad Wolf

    ABILITY
    3 x Captured Prey
    2 x Full Moon
    3 x Shriek of Vengeance
    3 x Speedstrike
    3 x What Sharp Teeth
    2 x Bloodlust
    4 x Now You're Mine
    2 x Regeneration

    OTHER
2 x Wrath of the Forest

*The allies are mostly based on 2:1 card concepts which have the potential to take full advantage of "now your mine" and "captured prey".

"bloodlust" and "full moon" to sneak in for some high damage turns.

I really like the tech plays that can come from "what big teeth" and doubling it with "speedstrike". Getting in for that last point of damage on an enemy ally or double tapping the opponents hero dropping two durability from a weapon or armor is VALUE.

"wrath of the forest" is for some play and a bit of card advantage. Don't know if will keep in the final version, but card advantage is good.

Style of Play : "Laying in wait" allows you to play slowly and benefit from it. You really are able to pick and choose your battles.

    * You have ally 2:1 creature advantage.
    * instant "aldon" kill ability with "now your mine".
    * Lock down bigger allies with "captured prey".
    * Capitalize on Moonstalker's 1.26 ability to control the flow of battle.
    * Tech out with "what big teeth".

    Feedback and suggestion...

You should use 4 full moon. It's just so much better than Bloodlust.

I'm playing Moonstalker right now. Both Bella and Chimera work really well with his ability.

just found Moonstalker's update and build my initial version
    17 creatures
4 PackWolf (may be a must
4 Medusil (stare at big allies and kill them)
3 Gargoyle (solid guy, waiting BloodLust or FullMoon)
3 Bella (best play in lay low turns)
4 Behemoth (play in lay low turns)

    9 "Removal"
4 Now ur mine(cheap against small allies)
2 Extra Sharp(cheap against larger allies)
    3 Shriek

    3 "Pump"
    1 BloodLust
    2 FullMoon

    2 "card draw"
    2 Bad Santa

    8 "equip"
3 Wrath of Forest (against board-sweeping, card adv.)
4 Jeweler's Dream (this is really better than Big Teeth, it cost only 2 and bring huge adv. on tempo)

why no Captured Prey: i'd rather kill the ally but not capture him
why no Deathbone: Medusil is better against big allies
why no Regeneration: I don't think Mages casting Poinson/Flame would be harsh battle, if it was, I would add Regeneration later
why no Speedstrike/Teeth: I think they are for DarkClaw. Moonstalker should focus on "Lay low" strategy, JD helps to cast more ally at the lay low turn so I play JD instead of SpeedStrike/Teeth

Drak, I think you are right about full moon. The reality is that I am setting up for the potential turn 4/5 power play. Full moon fits the bill better. I'm not a fan of of jeweler's dream. By the time it comes down, I already want to have some control over the game with this deck strategy. I think it's better served with an ally heavy deck where you are trying to drive the nail in.

Will try and play around with medusil a bit. It does fit into the strategy and has control capabilities that bad wolf doesn't.

Lol the new moonstalker became just like the old dc, just another stall tactic.
