Idea: Lance counter deck

Since everyone is craving for how awesome Lance will be I decided to go anti-meta and design a deck to counter him.

So far this is what I have, of course it isn't tested but if anyone is interested we could try it out on the test server some day.

1x Logan Stonebreaker (yay finally I'll get a deck with him)

4x deathbone
4x keldor
3x Dual wield
1x enrage
4x warrior training
4x crippling blow
3x rampage
3x bloodlust (maybe bad santa will be better)
4x berserker's edge
3x Jeweler's dream.

Overall strategy
- Heal yourself
- Use your allies to counter their damage
- Hit with Berserker's for the kill

Why the cards?

Logan will be able to get rid of the nasty allies to counter Lance ability. With a 3 charge it's a bit slower than Lance but should get the job of killing his allies done.

Deathbone + warrior training, this combo is to force a suicide attack. They could either suicide a simpler ally or they will sacrifice a hard to kill ally. The point is that they will take damage and then Logan will kill them.

Keldor + Jeweler's dream, Awesome early damage for "free" with Jeweler's Also a great combo against blake/aldon.

Crippling blow + Jeweler's dream. A great way to neutralize the nasty allies.

Enrage/Rampage, because you will take a hard beating and you need to heal a lot.

Dual Wield/Berserker's Edge. This is how you will win the game. If you could get at least 2 of your Berserker's to attack their hero at durability 3 and 4, you should be able to do enough damage to win.

Blood Frency / Bad Santa, Frency will be a great card but you could run out of life before you can do the kill, but Jeweler's requires you to have card draw therefore I think Bad Santa could be a better card.


So that's it. I don't think it's a good overall deck but it should definitely be able to counter aeon+Lance.

Some good ideas. I think Logan could be the anti Lance hero. I would try to focus much more on weenies than Dual Wield and Axes though. Lance doesn't have mass removal so a swarm of Snakes and Brutalis + Warrior Banner and Bloodlust could really screw up his day (plus it works against a lot of other decks as well).

The Deathbone warrior training combo seems cute, but I don't know how well it'll work out in practice (seems a little expensive). 3 Rampage also seems a bit excesive.

No Gargoyles? Gargoyles laugh in the face of Nightshade.

Oh and I would definitely go for 4x JD. The synergy in a deck with weenies is just awesome. Plus Keldor as you well put it.

Great idea with Deathbone+WT... I never thought of it. Maybe some Violet Thunderstorm could be good.

The way to beat lance is card draw. He is seriously slow.

i like it, but think there are too few creatures, you have 8 creatures and 4 warrior training.
if your berserkers are destroyed, how will you win?

would add gargoyles and PB's for more threats and recurring damage
